Hudson’s Two Touchdowns Lead Waldron Past West Fork

WALDRON — Austin Hudson scored on runs of 44 and 50 yards, and Waldron rushed for seven touchdowns in a 57-0 victory over West Fork on Friday at Bulldog Stadium.

Beau Parsons sacked Carson Jones on West Fork’s opening possession. After forcing a punt, Waldron scored on Phisher Brown’s 85-yard run with 8:57 remaining in the first quarter. Kevin Velazquez’s extra point made it 7-0.

Austin Helton intercepted a screen pass and returned it for a touchdown with 7:28 left, extending the lead to 13-0. Hudson’s 22-yard completion to Helton helped set up Jaxson Brown’s 3-yard touchdown run. A successful two-point run made it 21-0 before the quarter ended.

Hudson scored from 44 yards on third-and-nine in the second quarter. Gunner Williams followed with a 38-yard touchdown run, and Jaxson Brown added the two-point conversion. Hudson’s 50-yard touchdown and Velazquez’s kick completed a 42-point first half. The Bulldogs scored touchdowns on each of their five first-half offensive possessions.

Waldron totaled 288 rushing yards and 22 passing yards in the broadcast’s unofficial first-half statistics. West Fork’s Jones completed seven of 13 passes for 81 yards before halftime. Ethan Watts had 32 receiving yards, while Robert Preston’s two first-quarter catches covered 31 yards and each produced a first down.

Eli Morris scored on a 56-yard run on Waldron’s first possession after halftime. Helton added the two-point conversion for a 50-0 lead.

West Fork took possession on a third-quarter fumble touchback and recovered another fumble in the fourth quarter. Jones also completed a 35-yard pass during a third-quarter drive.

Cooper Metcalf stopped a fourth-down reception short of the first-down marker in the fourth quarter. Calvin Beaty subsequently scored on a run with 5:25 remaining, and Velazquez added the final point. The Bulldogs improved to 2-0 after opening the season with a victory at Clarksville.
