Addison, Boone Lead Greene County Tech Past Beebe

BEEBE — Running backs Ashton Addison and Brett Boone combined for five touchdowns through three quarters as Greene County Tech defeated Beebe 40-7 in nonconference play Friday, Sept. 4.
The Golden Eagles improved to 2-0 with their second road victory. Addison scored in each of the first three quarters, while Boone reached the end zone in the second and third periods.
Addison opened the scoring with a first-quarter touchdown run, and Nick Otero’s extra point gave Tech a 7-0 lead. Boone scored with 7:19 remaining in the second quarter, and Otero’s kick extended the advantage to 14-0.
Addison added another touchdown with 3:19 left before halftime. Beebe blocked the extra point, keeping the score 20-0, and that margin held through the break.
The Golden Eagles added two touchdowns during the third quarter. Boone scored with 7:18 remaining, making it 26-0 after an unsuccessful two-point conversion.
Addison reached the end zone again with 4:15 left in the third. Otero’s extra point pushed the Golden Eagles’ lead to 33-0.
Both teams scored seven points in the fourth quarter, with Beebe putting its first points on the scoreboard.
Lucas Warner contributed 55 rushing yards on seven carries for the Badgers, including a 39-yard run. He averaged 7.9 yards per attempt.
Beebe also received a 55-yard interception return from free safety Drake Mills. The Badgers finished with 159 rushing yards.
Tech returns home to face Highland on Sept. 11. Beebe, now 0-2, will play Batesville that night as both teams continue their nonconference schedules.
