Har-Ber Controls Final Possession to Hold Off Little Rock Christian

LITTLE ROCK — Har-Ber retained possession for the final 6:20, converting two third downs on its last drive to finish a 21-16 victory over Little Rock Christian Friday night.
The Wildcats recovered a fumble at their 4 on the Warriors’ opening possession. Brice Owens later converted fourth-and-1 with a 4-yard keeper during Har-Ber’s first scoring drive.
Owens finished that possession with a 17-yard touchdown pass to Eli Roper on third-and-12. Reed McAllister’s kick made it 7-0 with 33 seconds remaining in the first quarter.
Kinnon Doss intercepted a pass in the second quarter, giving Har-Ber possession at Little Rock Christian’s 41. Maddox McClain caught a 20-yard pass during the ensuing drive and scored on a 9-yard run with 6:15 left.
Haden Hall answered with a touchdown pass to Ridge Bowman, completing a 93-yard drive with 49 seconds remaining. Har-Ber led 14-7 at halftime.
Treyson Reith opened the second half with a reception covering more than 60 yards, then caught an 8-yard pass. McAllister scored from the 9 on third-and-2, extending the lead to 21-7 with 10:22 remaining.
Brody Bost’s 24-yard field goal brought the Warriors within 21-10 during the third quarter.
Hall finished an 80-yard drive with a 19-yard touchdown pass to Sawyer Henry with 6:20 remaining. Grayson Daspit knocked down the two-point conversion pass, preserving Har-Ber’s five-point lead.
Owens then connected with Reith for 10 yards on third-and-5. McAllister converted another third down and added a 14-yard run. Grayre Graham’s 17-yard reception moved Har-Ber to the Warriors’ 18.
Owens ran out the final three seconds on the last play, completing Har-Ber’s second consecutive victory.
McAllister finished with 97 rushing yards on 19 carries, according to the broadcast’s unofficial statistics. He also made all three extra points. Doss added a fourth-quarter pass breakup after his interception set up Har-Ber’s second touchdown.
