Schluterman’s Five Touchdown Passes Lead Lamar Past Paris

LAMAR — Karsten Schluterman threw five touchdown passes, and Kendrick Carr caught three of them and intercepted two passes as Lamar defeated Paris 47-0 Friday night.
The Warriors improved to 3-0 behind an offense that scored twice in each of the first three quarters. Brailon Carr added two touchdown receptions, including a 23-yard score in the second quarter.
Paris threatened first. Josh Honea found Ty Farmer on fourth-and-10 from the Lamar 27, and Farmer’s diving catch moved the Eagles inside the 5. Kendrick Carr ended the possession with an interception in the end zone.
The Eagles forced a punt on Lamar’s first possession, and Farmer returned it to the Warriors’ 25. Lamar then stopped Paris on fourth down and took over at its 16.
On the next play, Schluterman threw deep to Kendrick Carr, who tipped the ball to himself, secured the catch and completed an 84-yard touchdown with 5:20 remaining in the opening quarter.
After Lamar blocked a punt, Schluterman connected with Kendrick Carr on a 12-yard forward flip for a 12-0 lead.
Grady Marvel scored on a run with 8:59 left in the second quarter. Brailon Carr followed with his 23-yard touchdown on another forward flip, and Kendrick Carr caught the conversion pass to make it 26-0.
Lamar opened the second half with a possession lasting 7:34. Schluterman converted two fourth downs with runs before finding Brailon Carr for a 9-yard touchdown. A conversion pass increased the lead to 34-0.
Kendrick Carr’s second interception set up his third touchdown reception, pushing the score to 40-0 with 3:08 remaining in the third quarter.
Paris’ Harley Barnhill broke up an end-zone pass in the second quarter and later tackled Kendrick Carr to prevent an interception-return touchdown.
Lamar added a fourth-quarter rushing touchdown and Carr’s extra point to finish the scoring.
