Woods, Thomas Combine for Five Touchdowns in Gosnell Victory

GOSNELL — Mason Woods scored three rushing touchdowns, and Jeremy Thomas caught a touchdown pass and returned an interception for another score as Gosnell defeated Osceola 55-14 Friday night.

The Pirates rushed for 284 yards and finished with 368 yards of offense. Woods scored on runs of 3, 27 and 50 yards, while Thomas intercepted two passes.

Gosnell opened the scoring when quarterback Jamar Allen connected with Thomas for a 21-yard touchdown with 3:24 remaining in the first quarter.

Osceola answered in the second quarter. Quarterback Deion Spears Jr. found Khamajh Poole for a 28-yard touchdown, and Deizel Freeman’s extra point tied the game 7-7 with 6:20 remaining.

Woods’ 3-yard touchdown restored Gosnell’s lead at 4:19. Thomas intercepted a pass in the end zone late in the half, and Allen finished the ensuing possession with a 16-yard touchdown run as time expired, making it 21-7.

JD Young extended the lead with a 12-yard touchdown run midway through the third quarter. Osceola responded 39 seconds later when Kylan Bragg scored from 5 yards out, cutting the margin to 28-14.

Woods answered with a 27-yard touchdown run. Thomas then returned his second interception 45 yards for a touchdown with 30.5 seconds remaining in the quarter, giving Gosnell a 41-14 lead.

Woods broke a 50-yard scoring run early in the fourth quarter, and Young added the two-point conversion. Tyler Jones finished the scoring with a 10-yard touchdown run.

Poole led Osceola with six catches for 139 yards and a touchdown. Dedrick Coleman added six receptions for 60 yards. Bragg rushed 16 times for 50 yards and caught three passes for 19 yards.

Osceola finished with 218 passing yards and 261 total yards. The Seminoles intercepted a pass and recovered a fumble in the second quarter. Gosnell scored six rushing touchdowns in the victory.
