Rogers rolls past Charging Wildcats in Opener

Rogers 41, North Little Rock 3

Rogers opened 2025 like a veteran contender—explosive on offense, disciplined on defense, and relentless in the third quarter—to defeat North Little Rock 41–3 at Whitey Smith Stadium.

Senior quarterback Jeff Regan provided the full package, accounting for three different types of touchdowns: a swing-pass strike, a 50-yard keeper, and even a 50-yard reception on a trick play from wideout Braxton Lindsey. That “triple crown” effort gave Rogers early control. Running back Titus Kramer added the opener on a swing route and later bulldozed in from 19 yards, while Lindsey doubled as both playmaker and passer, catching a score and lofting the long touchdown to Regan.

North Little Rock opened with confidence, piecing together a 14-play drive behind quarterback Cory Marshall. The march ended with Peyton Reynolds drilling a 31-yard field goal, and Marshall later connected with Jamir Lee on a chunk gain. Senior tailback Jeremiah Buckner churned through the teeth of the Mounties’ front for several key conversions, while the defense matched Rogers’ physicality through the first half.

The Mounties turned the tide after halftime with a surprise onside recovery, immediately cashing in on Regan’s 33-yard strike to Lindsey. From there, Kramer and junior back Xander Burke capped grinding drives to finish the rout. Defensively, lineman Herson Cruz wrecked the middle with sacks and pressures, linebacker Troy “Ty” Chandler stacked stops, and linebacker Gerardo “Goose” Guzman flew to the ball to preserve the shutout after halftime.
