Fayetteville 18, Broken Arrow 17

FAYETTEVILLE — Fayetteville survived a dramatic overtime finish Friday, defeating Broken Arrow 18–17 on a gutsy two-point conversion. Senior running back Caleb Johnson muscled in for the winning points after a defensive penalty gave Fayetteville the ball at the 1½-yard line.

Quarterback Hank Hendricks kept Fayetteville’s offense steady, completing 20 of 35 passes for 211 yards and two touchdowns. He connected with Kavian Taylor for the crucial overtime score and earlier found Kenyan Johnson for a third-quarter touchdown. Johnson also swung momentum with a 56-yard kickoff return. Freshman kicker Ethan Farthing added a 22-yard field goal and nailed a clutch extra point in overtime.

Broken Arrow leaned on the power of running back Octavian Roberson, who rushed for 121 yards on 20 carries. Quarterback Jeremiah Satima contributed a 2-yard touchdown run and later hit wideout Peyton Lang for a 10-yard overtime score. Kicker Nick Irvine was solid, hitting both extra points and a 25-yard field goal.

Both defenses made timely stops, with Fayetteville holding Broken Arrow to one third-down conversion in regulation. The game came down to execution in the extra session, where the Bulldogs capitalized on their opportunity.
