Farmington 28, Prairie Grove 27

PRAIRIE GROVE — Farmington escaped with a dramatic 28–27 victory over Prairie Grove in the Battle of Highway 62 on Friday night, rallying late in a game that featured explosive runs, big special-teams plays, and clutch defensive stops.

Prairie Grove (1-1) leaned on bruising fullback Elijah Sugg, who ran for more than 190 yards and scored three touchdowns, including a 28-yard sweep that gave the Tigers a 27–21 lead late in the third quarter. Running back Blake Coughran added a 10-yard score, and the Tigers’ defense got key plays from linebacker Corbin Stearman and safety Aiden East. Prairie Grove controlled possession and churned out long drives but was undone by missed opportunities and penalties.

Farmington (2-0) answered with balance and resilience. Quarterback Slade Norwood threw a first-quarter touchdown and kept his team steady under pressure. Wideout Dawson Keaton scored on a reverse, grabbed clutch receptions—including a key fourth-quarter catch inside the 10—and set up the winning points. Special teams proved decisive: No. 13 ran back a kickoff for a touchdown, and kicker Brayden Conran was perfect on four PATs, including the game-winner with just 1:01 left.
