BISMARCK — After spotting Glen Rose a 14–0 lead, the Bismarck Lions stormed back with 48 unanswered points to win convincingly Friday night in a 3A showdown.

The Beavers struck early behind quarterback Gage Hood, who powered in three rushing touchdowns and topped 200 passing yards. Running back Darren Battle added tough inside runs, and wideout Weston Stanley stretched the field with key grabs.

But once Bismarck settled in, the Lions’ playmakers took control. Sophomore quarterback Cayden Burch broke loose for touchdown runs of 49 and 66 yards while also tossing a scoring strike before halftime. Junior athlete Caedmon Keithley added a 35-yard touchdown run and later a pick-six, sparking the home crowd.

Running back Clayton Martinez sealed the momentum with a bruising 66-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter. On defense, senior corner Preston Hughes stole the show with three interceptions, including a 40-yard return for a touchdown to put the game out of reach.

Bismarck’s front seven tightened after the shaky first quarter, forcing five total turnovers. The Lions rolled up more than 300 rushing yards, controlling the clock and punishing Glen Rose at the line of scrimmage.

Despite the final margin, Glen Rose showed its explosiveness early. Hood’s ability to run and throw kept Bismarck off balance in the first half, and Stanley’s contested catches highlighted the Beavers’ potential as 3A-4 conference play looms.
