MALVERN — Stuttgart struck early and often, rolling to a 49-14 victory over Malvern on Friday night behind a balanced attack and a suffocating second-half defense.

Junior quarterback Cain Price directed the Ricebirds’ offense with confidence, tossing four touchdown passes. His top target, senior receiver Quarterion “QT” Johnson, delivered a show-stopping performance with three touchdown receptions, a rushing score, and over 200 all-purpose yards. Jammarion Hoard added a red-zone catch, while sophomore back Tayquan Hall powered a late touchdown run. Stuttgart’s offensive line gave Price time to extend plays, and kicker Dawson McElvey converted six PATs.

Malvern found success in the first half with running back Tavian Clegg, who scored both Leopard touchdowns on hard-nosed runs of 4 and 20 yards. Quarterback Kyler Wright connected with David Hutchins for key gains, while Hutchins also blocked an extra point. Sophomore Devon Juniel contributed tough yardage between the tackles, and punter/fullback Jared Hathcock provided versatility on both sides of the ball. Despite flashes of grit, Malvern struggled to contain Stuttgart’s speed after halftime.

Stuttgart’s defense tightened in the second half, led by linebackers closing lanes and safeties rallying to the ball. The Ricebirds capitalized on field position and wore down the Leopards with depth and balance, sealing a decisive win in this 4A clash.
