This battle of unbeatens was scheduled less than 10 days ago when the teams agreed to play instead of having just 2 non-conference games. Blytheville has beaten Osceola and Nettleton this fall by a combined 3 points. Senior Courtney Rogers has led the Chickasaws’ attack this season, rushing for 169 yards and 2 TDs in last week’s 22-20 win over Nettleton; junior receiver/defensive end Trevon Lewis finished with a 35-yard TD catch and 8 tackles.
Mills defeated Osceola 28-17 in its Week 0 opener, and 2 weeks ago it beat Ashdown 43-12. The Comets trailed Ashdown 12-0 in the first quarter before rallying. Sophomore QB Elijah Moody didn’t play vs. Ashdown after getting injured against Osceola. Sophomore Kingston Burnett filled in with 3 TD passes, including 2 to sophomore T.J. Talbot. Sophomore Chase Slater caught a 63-yard TD pass in that game, while sophomore Zamarion McDonald ran for a TD.

Class 5A Harding Academy (1-1) at ELKINS (1-1): Harding Academy won at Elkins 41-27 in the 2023 semifinals en route to a state runner-up finish (Elkins was state runner-up last season). Harding Academy beat CAC last week, outscoring the Mustangs 42-7 in the second half after trailing 20-0 in the second quarter. Senior Kam Pryor ran for 3 TDs. Elkins lost to Dardanelle 2 weeks ago, its first regular-season setback since Week 2, 2022. Elkins QB Ben Napier ran for 70 yards; Connor Hamm ran 15 times for 76 yards. Josh Hamm led the defense with three tackles, two pass breakups, and one interception.
Prairie Grove (0-2) at COWETA, OKLA. (2-0): Coweta is coached by Arkansas native Tim Harper, a former coach at Lewisville, Des Arc, Searcy, and Mena. Coweta beat Class 7A Fort Smith Northside last week 44-20, as junior Brock Heilmann rushed 35 times for 282 yards and 3 TDs. Prairie Grove led Farmington in the fourth quarter last week before losing 28-27. Prairie Grove senior RB Elijah Sugg ran 24 times for 224 yards and 3 TDs, despite playing with a 100-degree temperature and strep throat.
Class 3A Yellville-Summit (0-2) at BERRYVILLE (2-0): Yellville-Summit has won 7 of the past 10 meetings over Berryville, including 34-27 last fall. But Berryville is 2-0 for the first time since 2015, when the Bobcats opened with wins over Decatur and West Fork before losing the final 8 games. Berryville beat Greenland last week 38-14. Junior QB C.T. Hicks passed for 167 yards and ran for 2 TDs; junior RB Jason Alvarado (13-151 rushing, 2 TDs) and junior WR John Butler (5-94 receiving) made big plays. Senior LB Kobe Garcia led the defense with 6.5 tackles, one sack, and two forced fumbles, while junior LB Josh Arechiga had six tackles and one interception.
GREEN FOREST (1-1) at Class 3A Greenland (0-2): Greenland has won 8 of the past 11 meetings vs. Green Forest, including last season by 24 points. Greenland has lost to Lincoln (26-25) and Berryville (38-14) this fall. Two weeks ago, Green Forest beat West Fork 28-6. Senior Gabe Serna led the Tigers, rushing for 128 yards and 2 TDs, while junior LB Radon Lawrence had 5 tackles, 2 pass breakups, and 1 interception.
Class 3A West Fork (0-2) at HUNTSVILLE (0-2): These are former conference rivals, with Huntsville winning 15 of 17 regular-season matchups from 1985-2001 (West Fork beat Huntsville 21-13 in the first round of the 1985 playoffs). They didn’t play again until Huntsville’s 2-point decision last season. Huntsville has lost its 2 games by a combined 77-7; West Fork has lost its 2 games by a combined 70-25.

HEBER SPRINGS (0-2) at Lamar (1-1): Heber Springs is off to an 0-2 start for the second consecutive season. A 12-point win over Lamar in Week 3 flipped last season, which ended with an 8-4 record and a second-round trip to the playoffs. The Panthers’ 2 losses this fall are by a combined 59-21. Senior middle linebacker Elijah Jones leads this defense with 21 tackles in 2 games; sophomores Cooper Julian and Jude Alton have played well on the offensive line. Lamar lost to Mansfield 30-6 last week. Kaz Krotts led the Warriors with 77 yards rushing; Eli Jones made 12 tackles.
Forrest City (0-2) at Class 3A RIVERCREST (1-1): Forrest City pushed Class 5A Wynne 2 weeks ago before losing 29-26. Senior Kevin Young has switched from RB to QB this fall. He passed for 80 yards and ran for 106 yards and 2 TDs against Wynne, while senior Roderick Tiswell ran for 95 yards and 1 TD. Rivercrest lost at Class 4A Gosnell by 10 points in the opener before beating Class 2A No. 1 EPC by 2 points last week. Rivercrest senior QB Jayden Young passed for 119 yards and 1 TD, ran 29 times for 164 yards, and caught a 34-yard TD pass. Senior Buddah Harris caught 8 passes for 89 yards and 1 TD.
Riverview (0-2) at JONESBORO WESTSIDE (0-2): Jonesboro Westside has been outscored 66-7 this season vs. Class 3A Hoxie and Palestine-Wheatley; Riverview has been outscored 110-0 against Class 2A McCrory and Highland.

GOSNELL (3-0) at Class 5A Brookland (0-2): Gosnell added this game when Cave City dropped to 8-man football weeks before the season started. Gosnell’s Mason Woods ran 31 times for 284 yards and 4 TDs in last week’s 63-24 win at Osceola, with QB Jamar Allen (5-8-98-1 TD) and WR Imari Young (2-53) also making big plays. Brookland lost to Highland 26-20 and Pocahontas 26-21. Brookland senior RB Mark Taylor ran for 108 yards and 1 TD in the loss to Pocahontas.
Marionsville, Mo. (3-0) vs. SOUTHSIDE (3-0): This game takes place at Mountain Home. Marionsville is the top-ranked Class 1A team in Missouri, winning its 3 games by a combined 118-43. Marionsville has a 61-5 record in its past 66 games and hasn’t lost a regular-season game in 5 years. Senior QB Bryer Guerin led Marionsville’s rushing attack in last week’s 34-14 win over Forsyth with 180 yards and 3 TDs. Southside beat Batesville last week 34-10. Senior Owen McLaughlin ran for 190 yards and 2 TDs against Batesville; Braden Simpson returned from an ankle injury to pace the defense with 13 tackles.

Dover (0-2) at Class 5A CLARKSVILLE (0-2): Clarksville has beaten Dover 7 of the past 9 meetings, including last season by 5 points. Clarksville has lost to Ozark and Pottsville this fall by a combined 84-28. Clarksville RB/LB Denver Pickartz, OL/DL Ben Holland and James Cook played well in last week’s 38-14 loss to Pottsville. The Panthers expect to get several injured starters back this week. Dover didn’t play last week after losing 2 weeks ago to Class 3A Atkins 49-0. Dover QB Matt Krentz, FB Logan Odom and slotback Sailor Smith have begun to understand coach Mark King’s system. “We can’t beat ourselves with turnovers,” King says.

IDABEL, Okla. (0-2) at Ashdown (0-2): Idabel has beaten Ashdown the past 2 seasons by a combined 68-0. But Idabel is winless this year, falling to Valliant, Okla., and Broken Bow, Okla., by a combined 84-34 the past 2 weeks. Ashdown lost to Hope in overtime last week.
Class 3A Jessieville (0-2) at HG HASKELL (2-0): Jessieville lost to Class 2A Mount Ida 28-20 last week; Haskell ripped Rison 25-0. The Cardinals held Rison to 59 total yards and Haskell’s offensive line performed well. “They are being physical and getting off the ball,” Coach Josh Smith says. Junior OG/DL Barrett Nelson earned an 89-percent blocking grade at right guard last week, and an 81 percent grade at DT; Jay Noble ran for 156 yards and 2 TDs.
Class 2A MURFREESBORO (1-1) at Genoa Central (1-1): Genoa Central beat Spring Hill 16-8 in the opener, but lost the Battle of the Bridge last week to rival Fouke 27-26. Murfreesboro beat Centerpoint 50-22 in its opener, and 2 weeks ago lost to Fouke 44-38.

HAMBURG (2-0) at Class 5A Magnolia (1-1): Hamburg has beaten Magnolia the past 3 times they’ve played (2012, 2013, and 2024). Hamburg hammered Dumas 49-20 last week, racking up 592 yards. Senior Nikel Lewis ran for 305 yards and 5 TDs, and he’s scored 10 TDs on 30 carries this season. QB Kaeden Thomas passed for 280 yards and 2 TDs and ran for another score. Magnolia beat Nashville in the opener before losing to Bauxite 40-22 a week ago. Senior Ike Ainsworth ran 14 times for 82 yards, and Tristan Morgan ran for 44 yards and a TD. Senior LB Chevis Johnson made 16 tackles.
Class 3A Dumas (1-1) at MONTICELLO (0-2): Dumas beat Star City 39-0 in the opener, but lost at Hamburg last week 56-28. Sophomore QB Kyle Young passed for 237 yards and 2 TDs, and he rushed for a TD; Rashard Moore ran for 130 yards and 1 TD. Monticello lost to Fordyce (46-18) and at Bauxite (38-36) in the opening 2 weeks before last week’s open date. RB Joseph Accelus leads Monticello’s rushing attack; O-linemen Gunner Hale and Asher Lanehart continue playing well on the line. Lanehart picked up an Arkansas-Monticello offer last week.
DEWITT (1-1) at Class 3A McGehee (1-1): Hootens.com Class 3A Game of the Week. DeWitt senior RB Korri Graham scored 2 TDs, and junior QB Xa Cox threw a TD pass in last week’s 28-20 loss to Class 5A Jacksonville. McGehee led Class 4A Star City 32-6 in the first quarter last week, cruising to a 32-6 decision.
Class 3A LAKE VILLAGE (1-1) at Star City (0-2): Lake Village beat Hall Steam a week ago 52-6. The Beavers led 38-6 in the second quarter, running for 242 yards and 5 TDs overall. The defense forced 2 turnovers and blocked a punt. Star City sophomore QB Justin Holloway played well in last week’s 52-12 loss to McGehee. “We have to execute offensively and clean up mistakes,” Coach Matt Garriott says. “We have to continue improving defensively, especially our tackling.”
