WILSON — Forrest City erased deficits of 21-8 and 48-34 and won on Kevin Young’s 87-yard burst followed by a two-point pass from Kendrick Patterson to Kennedy Johnson with 31 seconds left, outlasting Rivercrest 58-56 in a nonconference thriller.

Senior RB Kevin Young powered the Mustangs with five rushing touchdowns, including sprints of 78 and 55 yards, and added late conversion runs as Forrest City kept the pressure on with repeated onside kicks. Classmate Roderick Tiswellpunched in two fourth-quarter scores, and Patterson (QB) added a first-quarter TD toss to Tiswell and engineered three successful conversions down the stretch.

Rivercrest senior Jayden Young authored a remarkable seven-touchdown night—five rushing, one passing and one receiving—and intercepted two passes from his safety spot. He tied the game late with a three-yard keeper and found Buddah Harris on the two-point try for a 56-50 Colt lead with 58 seconds remaining. Harris also opened the scoring with a TD grab, while Jayden Ralph hit Young for a 48-yard strike to close the first quarter. Robert Lakes added a short scoring run and Hunter Ellis drilled six PATs as the Colts surged early and again in the third.

Forrest City’s pass game leaned on WR Vonterrious Williams, who repeatedly moved the chains; a second-half update credited him with seven catches for 124 yards during the rally.
