Explosive Mounties overwhelm War Eagles in crosstown regular‑season finale

Rogers 48, Heritage 14

Rogers flashed its trademark big‑play gear to turn a 7–7 deadlock into a 42–7 halftime gulf, then salted away a 48–14 win over city rival Heritage on a crisp night at Whitey Smith Stadium. The Mounties stacked quick strikes around a stingy front, while Heritage answered with time‑eating drives and a bruising ground game.

Air Force commit QB Jeff Regan piloted the surge, hitting two‑way standout Braxton Lindsey for a pair of first‑half touchdowns and later dropping a high‑point fade to WR Parker Nix. WR/CB Aidan Ikenberry added a reverse score, and backs Titus Cramer and Xander Burke punched in rushing TDs as Rogers diversified the onslaught. K Juan Chaparro was perfect on first‑half PATs and narrowly missed a 41‑yarder late as the Mounties managed the clock after intermission.

Heritage’s double‑wing T did exactly what it intends: RB Evan Gordon finished an 80‑yard, 10‑minute march to tie it early in the second, and he added a late 5‑yard score. QB Braedon Carroll mixed keepers behind a physical front of Keola Arizmendi, Sloan Hollis and Damien Lee, grinding out first downs. On defense, CB Marques Watkinsdisrupted deep shots and DB Samuel Cline made sound open‑field stops—bright spots in a rivalry game that demanded every snap.

In the end, Regan‑to‑Lindsey explosives between the hashes set the tone, and Rogers’ depth finished the job as both teams close the book on the regular season with plenty to build upon.
