No. 8 VALLEY VIEW (7-1, 5-0) at No. 13 Nettleton (6-2, 5-0)
The winner takes at least a share of the 5A East title and the No. 1 playoff seed. Valley View remained unbeaten in the 5A East with last week’s 42-21 victory over Greene County Tech. Junior RB Carter Wallace (12-127 rushing, 2 TDs) and Parker King (4-39 rushing, 2 TDs) led Valley View. The defense was led by Ryder Wooten (7 tackles, 2 tackles for loss) and Eli Thornton (6 tackles, 3 TFL). “Valley View’s defensive front is hard to block,” Nettleton Coach Steven Hampton says.
Nettleton junior Xavier Harrell (223 rushing, 3 TDs) raced 82 yards for the winning TD in the fourth quarter of last week’s 21-14 victory at Harding Academy. Darius McCuiston led Nettleton’s defense with 9 tackles, including 2 sacks. “Defensively, Nettleton is good in the box,” Valley View Coach Sean Cockrell says.”Offensively, they have a lot of weapons, but it starts with the Harrell brothers.” WATCH VALLEY VIEW HIGHLIGHTS

5A CENTRAL
Pine Bluff (2-6, 2-3) at No. 1 JOE T. ROBINSON (8-0, 5-0): Pine Bluff rode a strong defense to a 32-8 win over Watson Chapel last week in its third and final home game (all played at UAPB due to stadium renovations at Pine Bluff High School). The Zebras intercepted Watson Chapel’s first 2 passes, recovered a fumble and made 4 fourth-down stops. Joe T. Robinson needs one win to clinch at least a share of the conference title. The Senators trailed Searcy 23-10 at halftime last week before rallying to win 46-29. Junior QB Reece Simpson passed for 282 yards and 4 TDs. Senior playmaker Kevin “Deuce” Williams (30-194 rushing, TD; 2-57 receiving, TD), junior Hakim Frampton (5-107 receiving, 2 TDs) and senior Josiah Warrior-Benson (4-106 receiving, TD) were major contributors. Senior LB Isiah Reese (14 tackles) and Caleb Smith (11 tackles, 4.5 TFL) led the defense.
No. 5 SEARCY (7-1, 4-1) at No. 10 Maumelle (6-2, 5-0): This is a pivotal battle for playoff positioning. Searcy led Joe T. Robinson by 13 points at halftime last week before losing 46-29, its first loss. Sophomore QB Jacob Miles (289 passing yards, TD; 60 rushing yards, 2 TDs) sparked the offense. Juniors Will Manning (5-102 yards) and Bryson Thompson (4-96-1 TD) were the top receivers. Junior LB Kayden Hickman led the defense with 15 tackles. Maumelle amassed 477 yards in last week’s 55-20 victory at White Hall. QB Levi Warrior passed for 224 yards, including 3 first-half TD passes. Jacob Henry (11-86 rushing, TD) also took the pitch on a hook-and-ladder to complete the 60-yard TD play. Henry also intercepted a pass on defense.
White Hall (1-7, 1-7, 1-4) at No. 19 JACKSONVILLE (2-6, 0-5): White Hall has won its past 3 games vs. Jacksonville, including 46-13 last year. But the Bulldogs are out of playoff contention this season after last week’s 55-20 setback to Maumelle. Freshman James Jones, in his varsity debut, returned the opening kickoff for a TD, then he put White Hall back in front later in the first quarter with a 7-yard TD on a sweep. Jacksonville lost its fifth consecutive game, falling to Beebe 35-34 in OT, but junior Mason Ball ran for 163 yards and 5 TDs; Lamyron Smith recorded 17 tackles.
Watson Chapel (0-8, 0-5) at No. 15 BEEBE (5-3, 3-2): Watson Chapel committed 3 turnovers and gained 143 yards in last week’s 24-point loss to Pine Bluff. QB Malachi Rayford (13-yard TD run; 2-point conversion pass to Jakylinn Battles) accounted for all of Watson Chapel’s points. Beebe remained in playoff contention last week with a 35-34 overtime win over Jacksonville. Senior RB Curtis Goodrich (38-173-4 TDs) led the ground assault, while Kam Johnson (3-116 yards) and Demarco Moore (3-68-1 TD) were the top receivers. Junior Layne Clark finished with 2 tackles, 1 interception and 2 pass breakups.
5A EAST

Wynne (3-5, 2-3) at No. 14 HARDING ACADEMY (4-4, 3-2): Wynne kept its playoff hopes alive with last week’s 21-12 win over Paragould. The Yellowjackets made 2 goal-line stands inside the 1. Senior Christian Wren made 6 tackles, including 2 TFL, and blocked 2 extra points. He also ran for a TD and caught a crucial pass to convert a first down. Harding Academy likely finishes as either the No. 3 or 4 seed after last week’s 21-14 loss to Nettleton. Cam Pryor ran for both Wildcats’ TDs.
Greene Co. Tech (1-7, 1-4) at No. 18 BATESVILLE (3-5, 3-2): Greene County Tech junior RB Brett Boone ran 23 times for 71 yards, and senior QB Tucker Beasley threw a TD pass in last week’s 42-21 loss to Valley View. Batesville kept its playoff hopes alive when senior Jackson Elam kicked the winning field goal as time expired in a 24-21 victory over Brookland. Senior QB Cole Bentz passed for 247 yards and 1 TD, and logged 14 carries for 96 yards and 2 TDs. Junior Xavier Pierce caught 2 passes for 147 yards and 1 TD. Junior LB Rourke Sevier posted 24 tackles.
BROOKLAND (1-7, 1-4) at Paragould (3-5, 0-5): Brookland has beaten the Rams the past 5 seasons, notching a 35-14 decision a year ago. Brookland has lost 3 conference games by a total of 9 points, including last week’s 24-21 setback to Batesville. Senior QB Gabe Carter accounted for 3 TDs and 170 yards (112 rushing, 58 passing) vs. Batesville. Sophomore Elijah Hammon ran for 104 yards. Paragould’s Reid Phillips ran for 85 yards and 1 TD and passed for 128 yards and 1 TD in last week’s 9-point loss to Wynne. Josh Ward finished with 11 tackles; Dillon Burgess had 8.5 stops.
5A SOUTH
No. 7 LR Parkview (5-3, 4-1) at No. 3 HS LAKESIDE (7-1, 5-0): A key battle for playoff seeding. LR Parkview jumped to a 21-0 advantage against Magnolia last week en route to a 56-26 victory. Senior Kyrick Fulks returned 2 kickoffs for TDs, and QB Montrell Thompson threw 2 TD passes. DL Nygel Farsee recovered a fumble that set up a TD and bulled in for a TD run. Hot Springs Lakeside led De Queen 41-0 in the second quarter last week, then eased to a 48-8 decision. Senior QB Wally Wolcott passed for 247 yards and 4 TDs, much of it to senior WR Drew Morgan (4-115-2 TDs).
No. 6 HOT SPRINGS (7-1, 5-0) at No. 11 Camden Fairview (5-3, 4-1): Camden Fairview has beaten Hot Springs 15 of the past 18 seasons, including a 34-6 decision a year ago. But Hot Springs is undefeated in conference play this season after trouncing Texarkana 75-50 a week ago. Senior QB Sedrick Allen passed for 504 yards and 7 TDs, and ran 9 times for 54 yards and 1 TD. Sophomore playmaker Gabe Jaime (7-196 receiving, 3 TDs) and brother Luey Jaime (8-134 receiving, 2 TDs) accounted for 330 receiving yards and 5 TDs. Senior Jayden Meadows (13 tackles, including 3 sacks) led the Hot Springs defense. Camden Fairview starts 8 sophomores, and the Cardinals have 4 consecutive wins in conference since losing to HS Lakeside by 5 points in Week 4. Junior RB Demarion Robinson had 8 carries for 239 yards and 3 TDs in the first half of last week’s 64-13 win at Hope. Sophomore LB Malachi Jackson registered 10 tackles, 1 sack and 1 interception last week.
Hope (1-7, 0-5) at TEXARKANA (0-8, 0-5): Texarkana has won 6 of its 7 games vs. Hope, including 55-20 a year ago. Hope has been outscored 396-138 this year. Junior QB Austin Courtney passed for 90 yards and 1 TD in last week’s 51-point loss to Camden Fairview. Winless Texarkana has been outscored 347-168 this fall. The Razorbacks yielded 612 yards and 10 TDs in last week’s 25-point loss at Hot Springs.
De Queen (3-5, 1-4) at MAGNOLIA (3-5, 1-4): De Queen trailed HS Lakeside 41-0 in the second quarter last week before losing 48-8 while allowing 397 yards. Magnolia lost at LR Parkview 56-26 last week without attempting a pass. Junior Jamaijha Marshall (26-160 rushing, TD) provided the bulk of the yardage, and senior Walker Carter ran for 2 TDs.
5A WEST
No. 2 GREENBRIER (8-0, 5-0) at No. 12 Harrison (4-4, 3-2): Harrison has won 13 of the past 22 meetings with Greenbrier, but undefeated Greenbrier thumped Pea Ridge last week by 33 points. Junior QB Jack Palmer passed for 225 yards and 4 TDs at Pea Ridge, and he’s thrown 24 TDs and 1 interception this fall while completing 76.9 percent of his passes. Enoch Assan (1,694 yards, 29 TDs overall) ran for 214 yards and 3 TDs last Friday. WRs Trenden Mosley (3-85) and Keaden Cummings (6-74-2 TDs) led the receivers, while safety Ethan Smith (11 tackles) and LB Brady Wilbanks (9 tackles) led the defense. Harrison remains in playoff contention with last week’s 31-0 victory at Vilonia. QB Gavin Jones ran for 153 yards and 2 TDs, and threw 1 TD pass. Aspen Stephens (10 tackles, 1 sack), Sky Lee (10 tackles, 3 TFL, 2 sacks and 2 pass breakups) led the defense.
No. 4 FARMINGTON (6-2, 4-1) at Clarksville (1-7, 0-5): Farmington DB Peyton Bailey broke up a 2-point conversion pass with 41 seconds left last week to preserve the Cardinals’ 28-27 win over Morrilton. Senior QB Ayden Lester passed for 319 yards and accounted for all 4 Farmington TDs (3 passing, 1 rushing). Clarksville gained 149 yards in last week’s 40-0 loss at Alma.
Vilonia (3-5, 2-3) at No. 9 MORRILTON (6-2, 3-2): Morrilton rallied from 14 points down in the fourth quarter, but the 2-point conversion failed in a 28-27 loss at Farmington. Senior QB Maddox Berry passed for 339 yards and 4 TDs. Vilonia was shutout by Harrison 31-0 last week but could climb back into playoff contention with an upset.
ALMA (3-5, 2-3) at Pea Ridge (1-7, 1-4): Alma led Clarksville 21-0 early in the third quarter last week before winning 40-0. QB Jay Lemieux passed for 263 yards and 2 TDs and ran for 1 TD; Samuel Schlegel had 1 TD catch and 1 TD run. Pea Ridge hung with Greenbrier last week (tied 14-14 in the second quarter) before losing 49-16.
