Crow, Moseley Lead Greenbrier Past Hot Springs

Greenbrier 46, Hot Springs 13
GREENBRIER — Abbott Crow scored on Greenbrier’s first offensive snap, and the Panthers added four touchdown passes in a 46-13 season-opening victory over Hot Springs Friday at Don Jones Stadium.
Hot Springs received the kickoff, but two penalties forced a punt. Crow took Greenbrier’s first play 55 yards for a touchdown at 10:02. The Trojans answered defensively by stopping the Panthers on fourth down inside the 15. Hot Springs later escaped from deep in its territory on Brody Quast’s completion to Daquan Johnson, but Greenbrier ended that drive on fourth down near midfield.
Crow struck again 26 seconds into the second quarter, cutting across the formation for a 50-yard touchdown. With 2:05 before halftime, Easton Jutze found Trendon Moseley on a 4-yard slant, and Ethan Rhodes’ kick produced a 19-0 halftime lead.
Greenbrier opened the third quarter with Jutze’s 82-yard touchdown pass to Moseley on third-and-7. Hot Springs responded with a scoring drive. Zylon Alexander turned a short pass into a long gain to the Greenbrier 35, Quast scrambled to the 10 on third-and-8 and scored two plays later on a 6-yard option keeper. Erick Luna’s kick made it 26-7.
The Panthers answered 2:27 later when Jutze escaped pressure and hit Moseley for a 66-yard touchdown. Jutze finished 9 of 13 for 209 yards and three scores.
Kaeden Cummings added a 64-yard touchdown run with 10:10 remaining. After a fourth-down stop, Tyler Hart threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Moseley. Hot Springs completed the scoring on a 2-yard run following several Kam Bedford gains and Quast’s run to the Greenbrier 2.
Crow rushed five times for 120 yards and two touchdowns. Moseley caught six passes for 180 yards and four scores, while Cummings totaled 150 yards from scrimmage. Greenbrier held Hot Springs scoreless through halftime and made three fourth-down stops.
