TEXARKANA — Camden Fairview erased an early seven-point deficit with 20 consecutive points, then pulled away in the second half for a 41-26 victory over Arkansas High Friday night.

Jaquarious Thompson caught touchdown passes late in the second quarter and midway through the third as the Cardinals answered the Razorbacks’ early scoring drives. Fairview led 20-7 at halftime and 34-14 after three quarters before Arkansas High added two fourth-quarter touchdowns.

The Razorbacks opened quickly. Starting deep in their own territory, they moved the ball with completions to Bralon Thompson and gains on the ground. Arkansas High reached the end zone and added the extra point for a 7-0 lead with 9:35 remaining in the first quarter.

Fairview responded with a touchdown on its next possession. The extra point missed, leaving Arkansas High ahead 7-6 with 8:19 left. The Cardinals then stopped a fourth-and-one attempt to prevent the Razorbacks from extending the margin.

Fairview’s passing game helped move the Cardinals in front early in the second quarter. Completions to Calvin Morris and Jaquarious Thompson contributed to the possession, which ended in a touchdown and a 13-7 lead with 10:18 before halftime.

Arkansas High threatened to answer. Tony Noble supplied productive runs, and the Razorbacks advanced inside the Fairview 15. The Cardinals stopped the possession short of the end zone, and a missed field goal left the score unchanged with 7:15 remaining.

Fairview then put together another sustained drive. Demarion Robinson carried for first downs, and Dayton Browning added a reception that moved the chains. Jaquarious Thompson finished the possession with a touchdown catch, and Gannon Edwards’ extra point gave the Cardinals a 20-7 halftime lead.

Arkansas High made another push after the break. Cedric Sharp and Noble contributed rushing gains as the Razorbacks drove for a touchdown with 7:25 left in the third quarter.

Fairview answered promptly. Robinson ran for a first down, and a Jaquarious Thompson reception helped move the Cardinals into Arkansas High territory. Thompson capped the drive with another touchdown catch with 6:11 remaining in the quarter.

The Cardinals continued building their advantage and had 41 points before Arkansas High’s two late touchdowns. CJ Cleveland connected repeatedly with Bralon Thompson as the Razorbacks moved downfield in the fourth quarter. Arkansas High’s final scoring possession ended in the last minute, but Fairview retained its lead and finished the game with a kneel-down.
