ALL GAMES THIS WEEK ON SATURDAY, OCT. 10

HOOTENS.COM GAME OF THE WEEK:

2 P.M. KICKOFF: Southeast Oklahoma State (4-1) at HARDING (5-0): Harding ran for 360 yards in its win over previously undefeated East Central (Okla.). Andrew Miller and Jeff Regan each eclipsed 100 yards and scored 2 touchdowns. Kole McKnight had a big game defensively to lead Southeastern Oklahoma State to victory over Arkansas Tech. Two pass breakups kept the Wonder Boys offense from converting big plays. The biggest play, though, came when McKnight returned an interception 77 yards for a score. Pass breakups and interceptions help, but not against Harding and its running attack. Look for the Bisons to move to 6-0 behind a ground attack that seems to improve weekly under first-year Head Coach Roddy Mote.

WEEK 6 PREDICTIONS (Predicted winner in ALL CAPS and highlighted in Orange)

2 P.M. KICKOFF: SOUTHERN ARKANSAS (2-3) at Southwest Oklahoma State (1-4): Arkez Gomez ran for nearly 200 yards and a score on 14 touches as Southern Arkansas got back on track with a 3-point win at Northwestern Oklahoma State. QB Drew Davis took care of the football and threw for 2 scores. Southwest Oklahoma State lost a heartbreaker to Henderson, and the Reddies remained undefeated. Look for SAU to get back to .500 with a win in Weatherford, Okla.

3 P.M. KICKOFF: HENDERSON STATE (5-0) at NW OK State (0-5): Henderson knocked off Southwestern Oklahoma State 38-33 a week ago. The Reddies scored twice in the fourth quarter to win after trailing by 3. Austin Ledbetter added 2 passing TDs and is now tied with NW’s Jacob Jones at 10. Northwest OK State’s defense struggles to stop the Reddies, who roll in Alva, Okla., and move to 6-0.

2 P.M. KICKOFF:  Oklahoma Baptist (2-3) at UAM (1-4): A fun matchup this week in Monticello. Oklahoma Baptist fell to Ouachita Baptist 35-21 last week; UAM lost to Southern Nazarene 40-34 in OT. Oklahoma Baptist is favored on paper, but UAM has been very competitive under new Coach Gary Goff. The Weevils pull off an upset in Monticello.

4 P.M. KICKOFF: EAST CENTRAL OKLA. (4-1) at Arkansas Tech (2-3): East Central lost to Harding last week, which is no shame. The Tigers have established themselves as the top Oklahoma school in the Great American Conference. Arkansas Tech dropped its matchup last week to Southeastern Oklahoma State, another ultra-competitive Oklahoma school. The Wonder Boys face a tough home test this week, and East Central moves to 5-1.

12 P.M. KICKOFF: Southern Nazarene (1-4) at OUACHITA BAPTIST (3-2): QB Tre Nichols led the Tigers to a 35-21 win over Oklahoma Baptist last week. Nichols earned GAC Offensive Player of the Week honors after posting 124 passing yards, 155 rushing yards, and 4 total scores. Southern Nazarene won a nail-biter over pesky 1-4 UAM. Special teams made a difference. Brett Leonard nailed a 50-yard field goal, totaled 10 points, and punted well in the back-and-forth game. OBU wins this matchup to reach 4-2. Look for Carter McElheney to have his best game to date against a struggling Southern Nazarene secondary.
