GREENWOOD — Greenwood celebrated homecoming with a 42-0 shutout of Siloam Springs on Friday at Smith‑Robinson Stadium, extending the Bulldogs’ homecoming win streak to 19.
Senior quarterback Kane Archer powered the night with four rushing touchdowns, guiding a balanced offense that mixed quick perimeter throws with decisive quarterback keepers. Archer’s poise complemented senior running back Wesley Raggio, who scored twice behind a line anchored by Cody Taylor and Akira Fujibayashi. Senior receiver Benton Hossleyprovided the spark outside with chain‑moving grabs and yards after the catch, while junior wideout Brayden Renick kept drives alive on option routes and bubble screens. PK Landon Franklin was perfect on six PATs.
Greenwood’s defense swarmed from the opening snap. Defensive lineman Cody Johnson batted a pass and compressed the pocket; linebackers Travir Shelton and Drew Dickinson filled alleys and closed space; defensive backs Lawyer Thornsberry and Thomas Newcity erased vertical shots and secured the lone interception in the fourth quarter.
Siloam Springs showed grit in stretches. Freshman quarterback Titus Benson extended plays with his feet and delivered quick hitters on the roll. Senior RB/punter Mason Short flipped field position with several booming punts and added tough yards after contact. Sophomore Jayden Coleman and junior Hudson Loughridge contributed on special teams and underneath routes, respectively. But Greenwood’s depth and efficiency proved decisive, as the Bulldogs scored on five of their first six possessions and turned the second half into a running clock.
Greenwood improves to 6-0; Siloam Springs falls to 2-4. Both resume league play.
