PARAGOULD — Calmarre Harrell scored twice in the fourth quarter as Nettleton answered Greene County Tech’s only touchdown and finished a 28-6 victory Friday night at Eagle Stadium.

The Raiders led 14-0 after the first quarter, but the margin stayed there through halftime and the third quarter. Tech recovered a fumble on fourth-and-goal at its 2 late in the first half, denying Nettleton another scoring opportunity. The Eagles then threatened late in the third quarter, only for Nettleton to stop Ashton Addison on fourth-and-goal about half a yard short of the end zone.

Davontae Williams immediately gave Tech another chance. With Nettleton backed up near its goal line, Williams intercepted a third-down pass and returned it to approximately the Raiders’ 10. Tech lost ground on first down, then worked back to the 4 before facing another fourth down.

Gavin Cupp found Lane Compton open on the left side of the end zone for a 4-yard touchdown pass. The extra point missed, leaving Nettleton ahead 14-6 in the fourth quarter.

Harrell helped move the Raiders back into scoring position, including a run that carried them to Tech’s 17. After a loose ball and an encroachment penalty, Nettleton faced third-and-five. Harrell ran up the middle for the touchdown, and the extra point restored a 21-6 lead.

Cupp connected with Williams twice during Tech’s next possession, but Nettleton intercepted a later downfield throw to end the threat. Harrell finished the ensuing possession with a 5-yard touchdown run, extending the final margin to 22 points.

Nettleton also demonstrated its ability to escape poor field position early. After Tech downed a punt inches from the goal line, the Raiders drove the length of the field for their second first-quarter touchdown. Tech’s goal-line stand and Williams’ fourth-quarter interception kept the game within reach before Harrell’s two late scores.
