HOT SPRINGS — Rahshaamon Moore scored three rushing touchdowns, and Lakeside answered both Arkansas High scores on its way to a 35-14 homecoming victory Friday at Chick Austin Field.

The Rams controlled the game with their rushing attack, scoring four times on the ground and repeatedly converting third downs. Logan Polczynski added a rushing touchdown, while James Hall connected with Quardarius Jackson for a second-quarter score that gave Lakeside a 21-7 halftime lead.

Moore capped an opening possession that consumed 7 minutes, 5 seconds with a touchdown from inside the 1. Polczynski moved the chains on third-and-2 during the march, then Moore converted third-and-1 to put the Rams at the goal line. The successful extra point made it 7-0.

Lakeside’s defense backed up that long drive. Ian Estes stopped CJ Cleveland on third down to force a punt, and the Rams began their next possession at their 12. They carried that drive into the second quarter, with Hall finding Jackson for a third-down conversion and Moore adding two more important third-down runs. Polczynski finished the possession with a short touchdown run, and the kick stretched the lead to 14-0.

Arkansas High responded quickly. Cleveland found Bralon Thompson for a long gain, then broke through the middle for a touchdown on fourth-and-inches. The Razorbacks’ extra point cut the deficit to 14-7.

Moore appeared to answer immediately with a 99-yard kickoff return, but holding erased the touchdown and left Lakeside inside its 10. The Rams still reached the end zone. Moore’s screen reception helped move them out of trouble, and Hall later hit Jackson down the sideline. Jackson secured the catch, stayed upright through a missed tackle and finished the touchdown. Lakeside took its 21-7 advantage into halftime after Estes made the tackle on Arkansas High’s fourth-down completion short of the sticks.

The Razorbacks opened the third quarter with a sustained scoring drive. Cleveland’s 8-yard scramble on third down brought Arkansas High within 21-14 after the kick, but Moore answered with a 15-yard touchdown run. His earlier burst into Arkansas High territory and Polczynski’s run to the 10 had set up the score, which came after a false-start penalty.

Lakeside then forced a punt and used another methodical drive to take control in the fourth quarter. Moore converted third-and-2, Polczynski supplied another third-down pickup, and Moore broke free for his third touchdown. Ben Kilgore’s extra point made it 35-14.

The Rams finished the job on defense. Vincent Henry disrupted a late running play, Estes stopped Cleveland on third down, and a fourth-down incompletion gave Lakeside the ball with 1:01 remaining. Polczynski added another run into Arkansas High territory before Hall knelt to finish the victory.

Cleveland accounted for both Razorbacks touchdowns on the ground. Lakeside travels to Pine Bluff next, while Arkansas High hosts White Hall.
