Kickoff times set for three ASU TV games
JONESBORO - Kickoff times for the Arkansas State football team's three games set to be televised by the ESPN network in 2012, including a Nov. 8 home contest against Sun Belt Conference opponent Louisiana-Monroe, have been announced.
The first of the three nationally televised midweek games will be played Thursday, Oct. 4 at Florida International. ESPNU will carry the ASU-FIU game, now set to kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT. The Red Wolves game at Louisiana-Lafayette on Tuesday, Oct. 23 will begin at 7 p.m. CT and air on ESPN2, while their Thursday, Nov. 8 home game against ULM will be broadcast by ESPNU and start at 6 p.m. CT.
Additional television opportunities still exist for A-State, which played 10 televised games last season to match the school record set in 2010.
Six home games, including a matchup against longtime rival Memphis, and non-conference outings at Oregon and Nebraska highlight ASU's 2012 schedule. In addition to Memphis and ULM, A-State will catch Alcorn State and Sun Belt Conference opponents Western Kentucky, South Alabama and Middle Tennessee at home, where it went undefeated last year while setting the school record for average home attendance.
ASU will carry a nine-game regular season winning streak into its season opener Sept. 1 at national-power Oregon. A-State will host Memphis in its home opener a week later, catching the Tigers at ASU Stadium for the second straight year.
Season tickets for ASU's 2012 campaign are on sale at the ASU Ticket Office. The ticket office can be contacted at 870-972-ASU1, or tickets can be purchased online through A-State's official athletic Web site AStateRedWolves.com.
