The Senators defense, led by junior linebacker Isiah Reese (11 tackles), forced 2 turnovers.

Maumelle, which has won 5 consecutive games since losing to Beebe 22-0 in the conference opener, hasn't won a conference title since going 10-1-1 and capturing the 5A-West in 2014. The Hornets beat Pine Bluff by 3 points in Week 5 and squeaked past Searcy by 1 point in overtime a week ago. Sophomore QB Levi Warrior continues improving after taking over the starting job in midseason, passing for 237 yards and 2 TDs and rushing for more than 100 yards a week ago at Searcy, while Jacob Henry had more than 200 total yards. Antonio McFadden deflected a pass in the end zone on the final play to preserve the victory at Searcy. “We don't need to be anything more than Maumelle,” Coach Brian Maupin says. “We've been playing championship football for the past 3 weeks. We know what it takes, and if we win the battle up front, I like our chances.”
