No. 4 HS Lakeside (7-1, 5-0) at NO. 1 LR PARKVIEW (7-1, 5-0) (Thurs.): This Halloween night game decides the 5A South. Hot Springs Lakeside has won its 5 conference games by an average of 49-13, including 63-6 over DeQueen last week. The Rams were up 49-6 in the second quarter before pulling their starters. Junior quarterback Wally Wolcott (11-12-180 passing, 4 TDs; 1 rushing TD) played well in the first half. Senior Ben Vincent (5-99-3) was the top receiver, while Ryan Ballard caught a 29-yard TD pass. HS Lakeside's top rusher, senior Grady Ohman, ran for 191 yards and 1 TD. LR Parkview has won its 5 league games, all by the 35-point sportsmanship rule, by an average of 58-7. The Patriots led Magnolia 21-0 at halftime last week before easing to a 42-7 decision. Senior safety Omarion Robinson and LB Kevin Ellis led a Patriots defense that held Magnolia to 9 yards rushing and 142 total yards. RB Monterrio Elston and WR Jace White have played well on offense this year, Coach Brad Bolding says.

NO. 2 JOE T. ROBINSON (7-1, 5-0) at No. 20 Pine Bluff (2-6, 2-3): Joe T. Robinson finishes with no worse than the No. 2 seed and wraps up the league title this week with a win and a Maumelle loss. The Senators, winners of 7 consecutive games, scored 2 TDs on their first 4 snaps in a 49-14 victory Searcy. Senior Nick Abrams (5-90 rushing) scored on a 62-yard run on the game's first play to get the Senators started. Deuce Williams (7-95 rushing, TD) scored the game's second TD on a 31-yard run. Pine Bluff beat Watson Chapel 33-6 a week ago with RB D'Juan Hayes (16-116-2) leading the Zebras' offense. DL Danny Johnson (3 sacks) and DB Kayvon Stringer (2 interceptions) sparked Pine Bluff's defense
NO. 14 MAUMELLE (6-2, 4-1) at No. 10 Searcy (6-2, 4-1): Maumelle has won 4 consecutive games and could win the league title with 2 more victories. The Hornets forced 6 turnovers, 5 in the first half, and held White Hall to 159 yards in last week's 55-0 victory. Hornets RB Marshaun Wiley (5-117-2) led the onslaught. Searcy trailed Joe T. Robinson 21-0 in the first quarter and 42-0 at halftime before losing 49-14. Curtis Goodrich and Rickey Love each ran for Lions TDs.
Jacksonville (1-7, 0-5) at WHITE HALL (2-6, 2-3): Jacksonville has lost its 5 conference games by an average of 28-4, but the Titans led Beebe 14-3 in the third quarter last week before losing 18-14. White Hall was short-handed (multiple suspensions following Week 7 fight with Watson Chapel) in last week's 55-0 loss at Maumelle. The Bulldogs had 6 turnovers and gained 159 yards.
NO. 13 BEEBE (5-3, 3-2) at Watson Chapel (1-7, 0-5): Watson Chapel has lost its 5 conference games by an average of 46-9. Beebe beat Jacksonville 18-14 after trailing 14-3 in the third quarter. QB Mason Harbin ran for 112 yards and 2 TDs, while Deandre Triumel (10 tackles) and Daelun Jackson (8 stops) were defensive leaders.
5A EAST
Nettleton (6-2, 4-1) at NO. 3 VALLEY VIEW (8-0, 5-0): Nettleton can still win the league title if it wins out, or finish as the No. 4 seed if it loses out. Nettleton QB Maddox Hampton threw a 37-yard TD pass to Jordan Simmons in last week's 37-14 loss to Harding Academy. Undefeated Valley View needs 1 more victory to secure the league title. Senior QB Drew Gartman ran for 3 TDs in last week's 51-0 win over Greene County Tech, while sophomore CB R.J. Estrich recorded 2 tackles and returned a punt 46 yards for a TD. Brody Dix kicked 7 extra points and had 7 touchbacks on kickoffs.
NO. 7 HARDING ACADEMY (5-3, 4-1) at No. 9 Wynne (6-2, 4-1): The winner stays in contention for the No. 2 playoff seed. Harding Academy senior QB Owen Miller ran for 3 TDs and threw 1 TD pass in last week's 37-14 win at Nettleton. Senior Isaac Baker ran 58 yards for another Wildcats TD. Wynne handled Paragould 28-0 a week ago. Noah Stewart (13-107-2) and Cam Smith (16-104-1) were the leading rushers for the Yellowjackets. LB Braylan McDowell returned a fumble 75 yards for a TD, made 8 tackles and forced 2 fumbles.
BATESVILLE (1-7, 1-4) at Greene County Tech (0-8, 0-5): Neither team will make the playoffs. Greene County Tech averages 10 points per game and is coming off a 51-0 loss to Valley View. Batesville lost to Brookland 42-20 a week ago, but junior QB Cole Bentz threw 3 TD passes, including 2 to senior Talen Foree. Senior Camden Cline and sophomore Rourke Seveir led the Pioneers with 10 tackles each.
Paragould (3-5, 0-5) at BROOKLAND (5-3, 2-3): Both teams are improved from last season, but neither will make the playoffs. Paragould has dropped 5 consecutive conference games by an average of 43-6. Brookland RB/WR Gabe Carter had 8 receptions and ran 8 times for 94 yards in last week's win over Batesville.
5A SOUTH
No. 4 HS Lakeside (7-1, 5-0) at NO. 1 LR PARKVIEW (7-1, 5-0) (Thurs.): Hootens.com Class 5A Game of the Week, above.
NO. 6 CAMDEN FAIRVIEW (6-2, 4-1) at Hot Springs (4-4, 3-2): Camden Fairview has won 5 consecutive games since losing to HS Lakeside by 7 points in Week 4. The Cardinals clobbered De Queen and Hope the past 2 weeks by a combined 129-7. They led Hope 54-0 in the second quarter last week before winning 66-0. Senior QB Darrell Atkins (11-14-279 passing, 4 TDs; 3-17 rushing) and slot WR Trent Haygood (6-198-3 receiving) led the offense, while junior J'son Moten (8 tackles, 3 sacks) led the defense. Hot Springs must regroup after last week's 35-26 loss to Arkansas High. Kyin Jamerson ran for 118 yards and a TD, plus 6 tackles on defense. Robert Blevins (20-134-1 rushing) and Xavier Mitchell (5-99 receiving) played well for the Trojans.
MAGNOLIA (3-5, 1-4) at De Queen (3-5, 1-4): Magnolia has lost 4 consecutive games to the likely playoff teams by a combined 128-31. Sophomore QB Titus Nelson passed for 133 yards and 1 TD in last week's 42-7 loss to LR Parkview. The Panthers rushing attack was held to 9 yards on 26 carries. De Queen also has lost 4 consecutive games to the likely playoff teams by a combined 234-36. The Leopards trailed HS Lakeside 49-6 in the second quarter a week ago.
ARKANSAS HIGH (1-7, 1-4) at Hope (0-8, 0-5): Arkansas High won its first game last week, a 35-26 upset over Hot Springs. Senior QB William Dunbar (14-19-174 passing, 1 TD; 5-47 rushing) played well, along with RBs Tony Noble, Jr. (13-109-4) and Zephaniah Black (10-87). Jeremiah Vardeman (7 tackles), Melvin Griffen (6 tackles) and Davion Price (5 tackles, 1 sack) were keys on defense. Hope gave up 628 yards in last week's 66-0 loss to Camden Fairview.
5A WEST
NO. 8 MORRILTON (7-1, 4-1) at No. 11 Vilonia (6-2, 4-1): Both teams still contending for the No. 2 playoff spot. Morrilton junior QB Maddox Berry completed 40 of 61 passes for 746 yards and a state-record 11 TDs in last week's 78-75 loss to Farmington. Leading receivers were Dante Cox (12-184-2), Champ McNabb (11-158-1), Andrew Rhoden (9-137-4) and Jamarcus Sandidge (7-249-4). Vilonia beat Harrison 24-21 last week (trailed 21-7 in the third quarter) behind Landen Mills' 2 second-half interceptions that set up TDs. Senior QB Skyler Cole passed for 161 yards and a TD and ran for a TD.
Clarksville (1-7, 0-5) at NO. 5 FARMINGTON (7-1, 5-0): Farmington sews up the league title with 1 more victory. Senior QB Ayden Lester passed for 391 yards and 2 TDs in a 78-75 win over Morrilton. Farmington's defense forced 3 crucial turnovers. Clarksville compiled 357 yards in last week's 42-0 loss to Alma. Angel Alvarez tallied 263 yards. Brack Denton (9 tackles) and Cyprus Tuck (7 tackles) led on defense.
Harrison (1-6, 1-4) at NO. 12 GREENBRIER (5-3, 3-2): Harrison needs to win out and get help to make the playoffs after last week's 3-point loss to Vilonia. RB Sky Lee ran for 96 yards, and Tead Deakins had 45 yards receiving. Caydem Long left the defense tackles. Greenbrier needs 1 more win to lock up a playoff spot. The Panthers have won consecutive conference games over Alma and Pea Ridge by a combined 70-25. Junior Enoch Assan ran for 235 yards and 3 TDs in last week's 40-9 win at Pea Ridge, while Eric Huett recorded 15 tackles. Asher Ruple graded out as the top lineman.
Pea Ridge (1-7, 1-4) at NO. 16 ALMA (5-3, 2-3): Pea Ridge allowed more than 400 yards in last week's 40-9 loss to Greenbrier. Alma can make the playoffs if it wins out and Greenbrier loses the next 2 games. Alma QB Michael Taylor passed for 175 yards in last week's 42-0 win at Clarksville, while Jacob Dollard ran for 88 yards and 1 TD. Byron Standridge had 11 stops.
