CONWAY - The University of Central Arkansas will host a Purple & Gray Turf Open House at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Security Field at Estes Stadium.

The event will allow fans and supporters to experience the new Purple and Gray artificial turf at the stadium. The first 300 fans will receive free appetizers from JJ's Grill and Chill and free "Fear the Stripes" T-shirts. An official ribbon-cutting by the Conway Chamber of Commerce will take place at 6:45, followed by remarks from Conque and Dr. Brad Teague, UCA's director of athletics. The Bears' new Nike uniforms will be unveiled, as well as the new design for the season tickets. Conque will also introduce his senior class and his coaching staff.

Kids will be able to compete in 40-yard dash contests for prizes on the new turf following the official ceremony.

There will be no admission charge to the event.
