A-State Fan Day includes scrimmage
JONESBORO – Arkansas State will conduct its annual Fan Day on Saturday at Centennial Bank Stadium, featuring a scrimmage by the football team and autograph sessions with multiple Red Wolves’ sports and spirit squads.
The event begins at 5 p.m. with an autograph session featuring the women’s soccer and volleyball teams and a photo opportunity with the Red Wolves’ cheerleading squad, dance team and mascots - Howl and Scarlet. The autographs and photos take place on the stadium’s west concourse.
The football team will hold its 14th practice, starting at 6 p.m. Following the scrimmage, the student-athletes and coaches will sign autographs and take photos on the field with fans.
Throughout the entirety of the event, there will be an A-State marketing tent set up on the southwest concourse, where fans can purchase season tickets and sign up for the Howl’s Pals kids club. The stadium team shop will be open, and limited concessions will be available on the west concourse.
The football team held its first practice Aug. 3, one day after reporting for fall camp and conducting its annual media day. A-State has piled up 59 victories over the past seven seasons to tie for the 25th most wins in the nation and sixth most among Group of 5 programs.
The Red Wolves are receiving votes in USA Today’s Coaches Poll, and they were picked in the Sun Belt Conference preseason coaches’ poll to win the league in 2018. A-State is the only FBS program in the nation to claim five conference championships over the past seven seasons.
A-State opens its 2018 season at 6 p.m. Sept. 1 at Centennial Bank Stadium against Southeast Missouri State. The volleyball team opens its season Aug. 24 at the Memphis Invitational and the women’s soccer team, which won its exhibition game against Lipscomb, will play its season opener at 4 p.m. Aug. 16 at home vs. UT Martin.
Season tickets can be purchased through the A-State Ticket Office, located at First National Bank Arena’s lower red entrance, in person, by phone at 870-972-2781 or online by visiting AStateRedWolves.com/Tickets.
