GAME OF THE WEEK
No. 6 Rison at No. 18 Camden Harmony Grove

 
Junior RB Raphael "Rock" Caldwell paces Rison's Veer attack with 431 yards. The young Wildcats have played inconsistently, but sophomore linebacker A.J. Smith leads the team with 24 total tackles. Smith played well last week in a 63-32 win over England. Senior center Codey Keaton has consistently graded a team-high 76 percent for Rison. Harmony Grove counters with a line that tips the scales at 1,200 pounds and junior Ticorian Berry (5-9, 155) at quarterback. Three-year starting LB Blake Norwood (shoulder and knee) is questionable. Class 4A Star City beat Rison 35-20 and C. Harmony Grove 41-20.

1-3A

Mountainburg at CEDARVILLE (6): Mountainburg's last win in this series came at Cedarville in 2006. Cedarville allowed 402 rushing yards in last week's 49-20 loss at Pottsville.
CHARLESTON (10) at Mansfield: Charleston senior QB Derrick Haney threw three TDs, and junior FB Ryan McDonald rushed for 122 yards and two TDs in last week's 34-0 win against Clarksville. Mansfield's backfield duo of juniors Seth Feimster and Garret Sutton rushed for a combined 130 yards in last week's 50-7 loss at Kansas powerhouse, Riverton.
Elkins at LAVACA (1): Elkins senior receiver Hunter Guffey caught five passes for 157 yards and a TD in last year's 19-7 win against Lavaca. Lavaca has lost three of its past four games since it reached the 2008 semifinals.
GREENLAND (12) at Lincoln: Greenland beat Lincoln 35-16 in 2008. Lincoln has scored 27 points in its first three games.

2-3A
England at BARTON (8): England junior QB Josh Anderson completed 28 of 56 passes for 386 yards in last week's 63-32 loss at Rison. Barton fresh off its first win of the season, a 22-0 shutout against Marvell.
Rose Bud at BRINKLEY (10): Rose Bud has allowed 125 points in its first three games. Brinkley beat Rose Bud 40-26 last season.
Episcopal at HARDING ACADEMY (28): Episcopal routed 7-2A member Horatio last week 44-0, its first shutout since Week 1, 2006. Harding Academy junior RB Ben Lacrone carried the ball 22 times for 138 yards and a TD in last week's 27-13 win against Arkansas Baptist.
RIVERVIEW (17) at Mayflower: Riverview avenges a 48-point shutout the Eagles handed it at home last year. Mayflower enters league play after losing its first three games by an average of 21 points.

3-3A
Piggott at CAVE CITY (14): Piggott junior RB Alex Samples rushed for 322 yards and five TDs in last week's 45-34 win against Clarendon. Cave City senior RB Tyler Engleman rushed for 152 yards and three TDs in a 34-16 win against Yellville-Summit.
EARLE (30) at Corning: Earle senior RB/DB Mike Wilson returned an interception 70 yards for a TD in last year's 46-14 win against Corning. Corning senior QB Gage Arnold scored the Bobcats' only TD in last week's 40-7 loss at Gosnell.
Rivercrest at HARRISBURG (6): Rivercrest junior QB Blake Coffman completed 10 of 15 passes for 177 yards and two TDs in last week's 33-24 loss against Osceola. Harrisburg junior QB Zach Davis completed 19 of 32 passes for 315 yards and a TD and rushed for a TD in last week's 27-18 win at Riverview.
HOXIE (21) at Manila: Hoxie sophomore RB Sebastian Irvin averaged less than 4 yards per carry in last week's 14-7 loss against Highland. Manila has scored 53 points in its first three games; it scored 37 points in all 10 games a year ago.

4-3A
Marshall at ATKINS (7): Marshall lost 42-14 to Atkins last year. Atkins sophomore RB Trey Bennett scored on an 85-yard TD run in last week's 42-6 loss at Dardanelle.
Perryville at GREEN FOREST (6): The last time Perryville lost three games in a row was the end of the 2007 season. It was out-muscled last week in a 14-0 loss at 2A Carlisle. Green Forest's only conference loss in 2008 was at Perryville 35-32.
Mountain View at LAMAR (32): After winning its first game since 2006, Mountain View has lost its last two games by a combined score of 89-13. Lamar senior RB/LB Zack Ward averaged 5 yards per carry, recorded 11 tackles and a sack, and blocked a punt in last week's 13-6 win against Dover.
Paris at YELLVILLE-SUMMIT (6): Paris had to forfeit its 49-34 win against the Panthers a year ago. Yellville-Summit senior QB Timothy Hoyt completed nine of 20 passes for 102 yards and a TD and rushed for 90 yards in last week's 34-16 loss at Cave City.

5-3A
Arkansas Baptist at GLEN ROSE (7): Arkansas Baptist senior QB Logan Quinn threw three TDs before he broke his collarbone in last week's 27-13 loss at Harding Academy. Glen Rose junior RB Steven Kehner rushed 23 times for 216 yards and three TDs in a 52-25 win over Mayflower.
Bauxite at MAGNET COVE (8): Bauxite senior RB Blake Childress rushed 17 times for 137 yards and two TDs in last week's 20-7 win against Spring Hill. Magnet Cove had its highest scoring output last season in its 51-35 win at Bauxite.
Centerpoint at FOUNTAIN LAKE (40): Centerpoint gave up 56 points against Fountain Lake in a shutout loss a year ago. Fountain Lake gained 436 rushing yards last week in its 35-28 win at HS Lakeside.
JESSIEVILLE (3) at Bismarck: Jessieville's only league victory last year was a 14-point shutout vs. Bismarck. Bismarck does not win an unprecedented fourth game in a row.

7-3A
LAFEYETTE COUNTY (20) at Drew Central: Lafayette County junior RB LaDarien Briggs rushed for 165 yards and three TDs in last year's 42-7 win against Drew Central. Drew Central suffered its first shutout loss against Hamburg last week, 48-0.
Fouke at PARKERS CHAPEL (22): Fouke has not scored in 2009. Parkers Chapel senior QB and offensive leader Jacob Midyett passed for 101 yards and ran for three TDs in last year's 30-19 win at Fouke.
Gurdon at PRESCOTT (2): Gurdon has lost 11 of its past 14 games dating to the second round of the 2007 playoffs. Prescott just lost its non-conference Super Bowl, 27-0 to Class 5A Hope.
RISON (6) at C. Harmony Grove: Rison junior RB Raphael "Rock" Caldwell averaged more than 13 yards per carry and returned a kickoff 75 yards in last week's 63-32 win against England. Harmony Grove hopes to avoid a repeat of last year's 0-4 start.
