HOOTENS.COM GAME OF THE WEEK
No. 6 Magnolia at No. 5 Pulaski Academy

The winner likely takes the conference title. Pulaski Academy lost defending Class 6A champion Lake Hamilton 30-28 last week, while Magnolia fell at Class 6A El Dorado 17-7. Powered by defensive end Cameron Davis (five sacks), junior end Adrian Thomas (three sacks) and junior tackle Landry Smith (a transfer from Hot Springs Lakeside), Magnolia's defense has given up 36 points this season. "We've got some theories and some ideas about things they'll do," said Magnolia coach Robert Day. "But they are so mysterious, do things that aren't ordinary."

The Bruin defense yields 28 points per game, but they "dial up pressure on a lot of plays," Day said. "They try to make things happen and get turnovers." Magnolia senior running back L.J. Berry has rushed for almost 400 yards this year while receiver Jamar Cooper has caught 20 passes.

Pulaski Academy senior quarterback Wil Nicks has completed 72 of 132 passes (55 percent) for 1,112 yards and 11 touchdowns this year, six of them to senior receiver Garrett Lamb.

WEEK 4 PREDICTIONS (favored team in ALL CAPS followed by point spread)
5A EAST

BATESVILLE (18) at Nettleton: Nettleton lost non-conference games to Jonesboro and Bentonville by a combined 98-0. Batesville hasn't lost to Nettleton since 2000. The Pioneers tied Mountain Home 17-17 last week when the Bombers kicked a field goal with 6.8 seconds left.
Blytheville at WYNNE (1): Wynne's 28-14 victory at Newport last week was its first non- conference victory since 2006. Comparing scores: Jonesboro beat Wynne 37-7 in Week 2 and Blytheville 32-0 a week ago.
Greene Co. Tech at FORREST CITY (3): Greene County Tech is 3-0 for the first time in a decade. The Eagle beat Forrest City 53-44 last year. Forrest City QB Barret Astin has thrown six TD passes this year.
WEST HELENA (21) at Paragould: West Helena's two losses are by a total of five points to teams with a combined record of 5-1 (Pulaski Academy and West Memphis). The Cougars clobbered Paragould 60-7 last season.

5A SOUTHEAST
Beebe at CROSSETT (7): Both teams rely on strong running attacks. Adam Griffis (almost 300 yards this year) fuels winless Beebe's attack, while sophomore Orlando Robinson and senior Brandon Bryant power Crossett.
LR MCCLELLAN (2) at North Pulaski: Winless North Pulaski has scored a Class 5A-low 20 points this season. Little Rock McClellan beat the Falcons 20-15 last season.
MONTICELLO (17) at Mills: Monticello's D held Fordyce to 139 yards rushing in last week's 34-6 victory. Mills has won two straight, including 24-14 at Jacksonville a week ago when sophomore Stephen Clark rushed for 159 yards and two TDs.
Sylvan Hills at WHITE HALL (14): Winless Sylvan Hills has been outscored an average of 36-9 a game. White Hall senior QB Matt Taylor returns this week from a knee injury, adding to a deep stable of running backs that feature Larry Walls and A.J. Richardson.

5A SOUTHWEST
CAMDEN FAIRVIEW (11) at HS Lakeside: Camden Fairview's offense had trouble in non-conference losses to Class 6A El Dorado and Watson Chapel. But the Cardinals find Hot Springs Lakeside less daunting. The Rams give up 35 ppg.
Hot Springs at PULASKI ROBINSON (10): Pulaski Robinson hasn't beaten Hot Springs since 2003. The Senators stuffed Oak Grove twice on the goal line to salvage a 12-12 tie last week.
LR CHRISTIAN (6) at Hope: Little Rock Christian was still effective last week when North Pulaski loaded the line of scrimmage in an attempt to slow Michael Dyer. Hope beat Prescott 27-0 last week, but the Bobcats struggled on offense.
Magnolia at PULASKI ACADEMY (7): Hootens.com Game of the Week. Pulaski Academy has outscored the Panthers 112-50 the past two years.

5A WEST
CAC at ALMA (7): Winless Alma played Class 7A No. 1 Har-Ber within 10 points (30-20) two weeks ago, but the Airedales lost to Springdale 41-0 last week. CAC's defense helped score two TDs in the final six minutes in last week's 21-7 win over Class 4A Lonoke.
Harrison at VILONIA (4): Harrison first-year QB Ryan Miller threw seven TD passes in last week's 52-14 win over McDonald County, Mo. But the Goblins must improve their run defense against the Eagles, who average more than 200 yards rushing a game. Vilonia's Eric Ebmeyer (73 yards and two TDs) and James Sax (139 yards and a TD) powered the Eagles to an 11-point win at Beebe a week ago.
Morrilton at GREENWOOD (21): Greenwood can't ride last week's emotional 54-51 win over Shiloh Christian. The Bulldogs have scored 97 points the past two weeks. Morrilton lost by 12 points to Class 4A Ozark last week.
SILOAM SPRINGS (10) at Greenbrier: Siloam Springs QB Bryant Adair completed 13 of 16 passes (81 percent) for 219 yards and a TD in last week's sportsmanship-rule win over Gentry. Greenbrier hasn't beaten Siloam Springs since 2003, but sophomore QB Neal Burcham gives them a shot to sneak into the playoffs this year.
