HOOTENS.COM GAME OF THE WEEK
No. 16 Malvern at No. 9 DeQueen

The winner gets the No. 3 seed, while the loser likely faces Shiloh Christian in the second round of the playoffs. Malvern features the top defense in the 7-4A, giving up just 12 points per league game. Malvern senior defensive tackle Osha Johnson (6-2, 295) "is the top defensive lineman in the league and one of the best in the state," DeQueen coach Chris Vereen said. Junior lineman Grady Ollison (6-4, 240) improves weekly, while linebackers Kevin Bell and Devin Baugh top the tackle charts. Athletic junior James King leads Malvern in receptions and also lines up at quarterback, while junior running back Dontail Henson surpassed the 1,000-yard mark in last week's 20-7 loss to Nashville.

DeQueen's three losses are by a total of 42 points to teams with a combined record of 26-1. Senior Greg White, who has committed to the Missouri, paces the Leopard rushing attack with 760 yards and 12 touchdowns, despite missing two games with a hamstring injury. Junior Corey Morgan has rushed for 503 yards and eight TDs, while senior QB Jamario Ervin has logged 486 yards and nine scores. "We've got to be patient and realize this will be a game of field position," Vereen said. "If we get a 30-yard drive and punt, we've got to be content."

WEEK 10 PREDICTIONS (favored team in ALL CAPS followed by point spread)
1-4A

Berryville at PEA RIDGE (3): Both teams are searching for first conference win of the year.
GENTRY (7) at Huntsville: Huntsville must win to have a shot at the playoffs, and running back Phillip Hoskins is questionable after straining knee ligaments two weeks ago. Gentry QB Caleb Ramsey has thrown for 1,376 yards and nine TDs this year.
Prairie Grove at GRAVETTE (14): Gravette will finish as the league's No. 2 seed unless it loses and Farmington wins. Prairie Grove likely sneaks into the playoffs as the No. 5 seed. The Tigers fumbled nine times in last week's 28-0 loss at Gentry.
SHILOH CHRISTIAN (35) at Farmington: Shiloh Christian must win to capture its fifth straight league title. Saint QB Kiehl Frazier has passed for 2,619 yards and 34 TDs this year, most of it in the first half of lopsided victories.

2-4A
HEBER SPRINGS (23) at DeWitt: The Panthers can clinch the second seed with a victory and Lonoke victory over Clinton. Heber Springs struggled against DeWitt last season before winning 28-24. DeWitt sophomore QB Gunnar Knoll threw the game-winning, 80-yard TD pass in the fourth quarter at Southside Batesville last week.
LONOKE (14) at Clinton: Clinton has lost three straight games and slips to the No. 5 seed with a setback. Lonoke has ripped off four straight victories, including a 12-point triumph over Stuttgart last week. Jackrabbit Brandon Smith has rushed for 1,201 yards and 14 TDs this season.
Marianna at STUTTGART (21): Stuttgart is the fourth seed unless Heber Springs or Lonoke lose. The Ricebirds led Lonoke by eight points in the fourth quarter but lost 39-27 a week ago.
Southside Batesville at BALD KNOB (28): Bald Knob has sewn up its first conference title since 2000 and first outright title since 1986. Senior QB Nick Glaze has passed for 1,796 yards and 16 scores this year.

3-4A
GOSNELL (8) at Highland (Thurs): Highland plays its second game in four days and needs help to make the playoffs. Gosnell will finish as the league's No. 3 seed and host a first-round playoff game.
OSCEOLA (21) at Pocahontas (Thurs.): Osceola plays its second game in four days. The Seminoles are league champions and are on the opposite side of the playoff bracket from Shiloh Christian.
VALLEY VIEW (17) at Jonesboro Westside (Thurs.): Valley View returns to the playoffs for the second time in three years. QB Taylor Lindley and running back Ron Hubbard help the Blazers average 23 points a game.
Trumann at NEWPORT (16): Newport finishes as the No. 2 seed and likely travels to Bald Knob in the quarterfinals. Junior running back Artez Brown has rushed for more than 1,200 yards this season.

4-4A
BOONEVILLE (8) at Ozark: Ozark can't make the playoffs but it won't stop the Hillbillies from playing hard against their rival. Boonville has already clinched the league championship and homefield advantage throughout the playoffs. Bearcat Talor Tatterson rushed for 138 yards and a TD, returned a punt for a TD and caught a scoring pass in last week's 35-7 win at Dardanelle.
CLARKSVILLE (10) at Dardanelle: Clarksville's Wesleigh Foster has rushed for 1,137 yards this season. The Panthers are in the playoffs and finish as the No. 4 seed with a victory.
Pottsville at DOVER (6): Dover rallied from a 21-6 third-quarter deficit at Clarksville last week, as Colton Williams rushed for 171 yards. Pottsville has lost four games by a TD or less this year and seven games by eight points or less in the past two years.
WEST FORK (10) at Subiaco Academy: Both teams are post-season bound, Subiaco Academy for the first time in school history. The Trojans get big plays from brothers Keon and Marquise Walters. West Fork finishes as the second seed with a victory. West Fork running back Garrett Eakins has rushed for more than 1,000 yards this season, including 205 steps in last week's 20-point win over Ozark.

7-4A
Arkadelphia at NASHVILLE (18): Nashville has clinched its fifth league championship in six years. The Scrapper defense makes key stops in big games. Arkadelphia is likely headed to the playoffs as the No. 5 seed.
ASHDOWN (21) at Mena: Mena must win and Pulaski Oak Grove needs to lose for the Bearcats to make the post-season. Ashdown is the league's No. 2 seed and heads to Osceola in the second round.
Malvern at DEQUEEN (1): Hootens.com Class 4A game of the week.
Waldron at PULASKI OAK GROVE (7): Pulaski Oak Grove goes into off-season on a positive note.

8-4A
FORDYCE (1) at McGehee (Thurs.): The winner finishes fourth in the league, and the loser still goes if Hamburg loses at Dumas. Both teams struggled to slow Dumas' running attack the past two weeks.
Hamburg at DUMAS (9) (Thurs.): Hamburg must win to go to the playoffs, and Dumas can clinch the No. 3 seed with a triumph. Dumas' three-pronged running attack (Sherodrick Smith, Jamarean Buchanan and QB Darion Griswold) combined for more than 300 yards and four TDs against McGehee last week.
Lake Village at WARREN (14) (Thurs.): Warren must win its final regular-season game to clinch its fifth straight conference title. Warren failed to score in the final three quarters and lost at Hamburg 7-6 last week, its first conference setback since 2004.
STAR CITY (7) at Dollarway (Thurs.): Dollarway plays its second game in four days. The Cardinals can't make the playoffs. Star City can earn a share of the league title with a win, and the outright title if Warren loses. Bulldog Demetri Goins rushed for 169 yards and two TDs and racked up 13 solo tackles in last week's 28-12 win over Fordyce.
