Lonoke returns to the semifinals for the first time since 1996. The Jackrabbits' past two playoff victories are by a combined three points with wins at Warren (28-26) and Malvern (21-20). The Jackrabbits rallied from a 17-7 deficit, holding Malvern to just 178 total yards. Senior quarterback Michael Nelson, who didn't play the position until the expected starter quit in the summer, passed for 140 yards against the Leopards. Nelson has passed for more than 2,200 yards and rushed for more than 600 yards this season. Senior running back Brandon Smith scored the game-winning touchdown against Malvern, his 23rd rushing score of the year. Smith has rushed for 1,783 yards and caught 14 passes for 198 yards and a TD this season. Senior Todd Hopson paces Lonoke's aerial attack with 47 catches for 753 yards and nine scores. Osceola has won 11 straight games and has beaten Huntsville, Ashdown and Heber Springs in the playoffs by an average of 17 points. The Seminoles lost eight expected starters who either moved or transferred in the summer, "but we've got a bunch of guys who just want to play football," said Coach Clinton Gore. "We've gotten better every game." Senior running back Tony Dancy has rushed for 2,411 yards and 29 TDs this season, and he's valuable on defense playing cornerback, safety and monster linebacker. Linemen Coty Martin, Malcolm Golden, DeQuavious Robinson, Eric Smith and Johnny Brown open gapping holes for Dancy and junior running back Kelton Jacobs, who ran for 166 yards and four TDs against Heber Springs. Junior linebacker Charles Cody paces the Seminoles with 132 tackles.
