HOOTENS.COM GAME OF THE WEEK
No. 10 Ashdown at No. 2 Nashville
Nashville has beaten Ashdown five straight times, including 47-28 in 2005 when it handed the Panthers their only regular-season setback. Ashdown won just three games last season, but the Panthers have won six games this year by playing physical.
Ashdown has just 36 players on its roster, but 32 of them contribute every week. Junior quarterback Chris McFadden has passed for 1,306 yards and 15 touchdowns, but he's thrown six interceptions this season. Brothers Tyrail and Roy Jetton pace the Panther offense, which averages 36 points a game. Tyrail Jetton has caught 27 passes for 537 yards and nine TDs, while Roy Jetton has caught 30 passes for 487 yards and six scores. Roy Jetton is the only two-way starter, also starting at cornerback where "he's fearless," Coach Chris Hill said. The Panthers play physical and have given up a TD or less in four games. Senior middle linebacker Michael Young returns for his third season, and senior Glennon Bobo dominates at end, Hill said.
Nashville has won four of the past five conference titles and three state championships in the past four years. Scrapper QB Cole Moore completes 62 percent of his passes for 1,172 yards and eight TDs. "He's managing the game well and making good decisions," Coach Billy Dawson said. Senior receivers Paul Morrow (23 receptions for 365 yards) and Allen Adams (23 catches for 313 yards) fuel the Scrapper passing attack. Senior linebacker Brett Little, who didn't play last season while focusing on advance placement courses, paces the Scrappers with 58 tackles. Senior linemen Geremy Hammond and Josh Wiley have combined for 12 tackles for loss and eight sacks. "Nashville does a great job of taking average players and getting them to play hard and fast," Hill said.

WEEK 7 PREDICTIONS (favored team in ALL CAPS followed by point spread)
1-4A
Farmington at GRAVETTE (4): Farmington scored on seven of its opening eight possessions at Berryville last week. Undefeated Gravette wins with D (give up 10 ppg) and solid special teams.
Gentry at SHILOH CHRISTIAN (36): The Saint starters continue to play just one half in league games. Coach Josh Floyd pulled most of the starters in the second quarter last week after the Saints jumped on Prairie Grove with four quick TDs in the first quarter. Gentry beat Pea Ridge by 17 points last week.
Pea Ridge at HUNTSVILLE (7): Pea Ridge must slow Huntsville's potent offense (28 ppg). Huntsville running back Phillip Hoskins has rushed for more than 700 yards this year.
PRAIRIE GROVE (24) at Berryville: Prairie Grove must win to maintain its playoff hopes. The Tigers run the ball effectively with fullback Thomas Soehner (more than 900 yards and 10 TDs this year). Berryville averages less than 10 points a game.
2-4A
Clinton at STUTTGART (3): Stuttgart gained just 188 yards and committed too many turnovers in last week's 27-0 loss at Bald Knob. Undefeated Clinton is the second-highest scoring team in the state (47 ppg). Clinton's six wins are against teams with a combined record of 5-29.
DeWitt at LONOKE (21): Lonoke running back Brandon Smith (more than 800 yards and eight TDs) guides the Jackrabbits to their second straight league win. DeWitt gave up 60 points against Clinton last week.
Heber Springs at BALD KNOB (14): The 2-4A's biggest game this week. Undefeated Bald Knob makes plays with QB Nick Glaze (1,152 yards and eight TDs this year) and receiver Trey Gavin (565 yards and seven TDs). Heber Springs relies on a stout running attack with Razorback recruit Braylon Mitchell (more than 700 yards) and some timely passes. Comparing scores: Bald Knob beat Stuttgart 27-0 in Week 6, and Heber Springs lost to Stuttgart 15-12 a week earlier.
Southside Batesville at MARIANNA (12): Marianna running back Tommy Colbert rushed 17 times for 104 yards and a TD in last week's 15-point loss at Heber Springs. Southside Batesville's only league win last year was against Marianna by eight points.

Newport at OSCEOLA (2): This likely decides the conference title. Osceola, which averages 29 points per game, relies on running back Tony Dancy (1,067 yards and 12 TDs) and an opportunistic defense. Newport hasn't allowed a point in a league game this season.
TRUMANN (6) at Pocahontas: Trumann committed four turnovers in last week's 28-point loss to Osceola. Pocahontas has been outscored by an average of 35-12 in its three league losses.

Subiaco Academy at CLARKSVILLE (14): Clarksville can't afford to overlook the improving Trojans. Subiaco Academy sophomore Marquise Walters accounted for three TDs and intercepted two passed in last week's 21-6 win over Dardanelle, its second league victory in five years.
WEST FORK (7) at Dardanelle: West Fork QB Isaac Muggy's injured ankle improves each week. Garrett Eakins ran for a TD and returned an interception for a score in last week's 19-7 win over Clarksville. The defending conference champs have won two straight league games. Dardanelle committed almost 100 yards in penalties and turned the ball over three times in last week's loss to Subiaco Academy.
7-4A
Arkadelphia at MENA (1): Mena improves weekly. The Bearcats trailed Nashville 38-31 in the fourth quarter two weeks ago and DeQueen by just a TD in the third quarter last week. Arkadelphia averages 15 ppg but the Badgers keep games close with their defense.
Ashdown at NASHVILLE (7): Hootens.com Game of the Week. Undefeated Ashdown wins with defense (12.5 ppg).

8-4A
DUMAS (2) at Star City: Star City beat Hamburg 16-14 last week, scoring 16-straight points in the second half. Dumas has won three straight over the Bulldogs. The Bobcats held Warren to just 12 points a week ago.

Lake Village at HAMBURG (6): Hamburg has lost two conference games by less than a TD, including last week's 16-15 setback to Star City. Lake Village's last conference win was 15-12 over Hamburg last season.
Dollarway at MCGEHEE (1): Dollarway allowed Fordyce to drive for the winning TD in the waning minutes last week. McGehee's three wins are the most in three years.
