WEEK 2 PREDICTIONS (favored team in ALL CAPS)

HOOTENS.COM GAME OF THE WEEK

Class 7A No. 1 Bryant at Class 5A No. 1 LR Parkview

Bryant is the four-time defending Class 7A state champions; LR Parkview is the favorite to win Class 5A this season after dropping down from Class 6A. Bryant has not faced many challenges in recent years. The Hornets were set to play Denton (Texas) Ryan last Friday in Shreveport but the game was cancelled because of severe weather. Parkview was idle last week after beating Springdale Har-Ber 48-26 in the season opener Aug. 25.

Parkview is led by Cameron Settles and Darien Bennett, who combined to rush for 303 yards in the Patriots’ win over Har-Ber. Bryant is led by sophomore QB Jordan Walker, who passed for 251 yards and 4 TDs in the Hornets’ win over Benton in the Salt Bowl on Aug. 27.
