HOOTENS.COM GAME OF THE WEEK
Class 6A No. 1 El Dorado at No. 2 Springdale Har-Ber.
Defending state champs meet. El Dorado quarterback Taylor Reed, the coach's son, has SEC college coaches interest. Reed completed 12 of 20 passes for 207 yards and three touchdowns last week against 2009 Class 5A state runner-up Camden Fairview. Har-Ber's level-headed senior QB Ryan Luther, 2009 state title game MVP, looks much improved (425 yards offense last week). Har-Ber's Michael Fine (6-4, 170) and Shawn Sayarinh (5-7, 140) combined for 266 yards receiving last Friday at Stillwater, Okla.

WEEK 2 PREDICTIONS (favored team in ALL CAPS followed by point spread)
7A/6A CENTRAL
Cabot at PULASKI ACADEMY (6): Class 4A Pulaski Academy's inexperienced defensive front gets tested by Cabot's pounding running attack.
CONWAY (7) at Jonesboro: Conway, 1-0 for the first time since 2006, looks like the team to beat in the Central conference. The return of running back Desmond Cox helped Conway's balanced attack total 560 yards last week against 2009 Class 7A state runner-up FS Southside.
FAYETTEVILLE (7) at Russellville: These teams tied 26-26 last year. Russellville's lack of experience and seniors resulted in four turnovers last week. But two junior running backs gained more than 120 yards for Russellville.
FS Northside at BRYANT (12): Bryant beat Class 6A Benton by 36 last week while Northside gave up more than 500 yards rushing in a 16-point loss at home to 6A Pine Bluff.
LR Central at FS SOUTHSIDE (1): Rebels extend LR Central losing streak to 23.
NORTH LR (1) at LR Catholic: Very odd. The first of two meetings between these Central conference schools in 2010 is set for Thursday and does not count toward conference standings. They meet again in 29 days for keeps at North LR.
Rogers at VAN BUREN (7): Van Buren just beat rival Alma for the second time in nine years.
7A/6A WEST
BENTONVILLE (17) at Ft. Zumwalt West, Mo.: Bentonville mercy-ruled North LR last week. It beat Ft. Zumwalt 50-19 a year ago.
El Dorado at HAR-BER (14): Game of the Week.
Rogers at VAN BUREN (7): Van Buren just beat rival Alma for the second time in nine years.
ROGERS HERITAGE (17) at Siloam Springs: Siloam Springs' senior QB Braden Pippen missed last week's game against Claremore, Okla., but he could return.
SPRINGDALE (1) at Lake Hamilton: Springdale's defense allowed LR Catholic just two touchdowns.
7A/6A EAST
LR Hall at MILLS (14): Mills has beaten Hall four straight seasons.
WEST MEMPHIS (16) at Blytheville: West Memphis committed four turnovers and trailed Forrest City in the third quarter last week, but won 34-13.
