Class 2A No. 1 Fordyce at No. 9 Camden Harmony Grove
Fordyce downed Harmony Grove 46-22 a season ago and each team was idle a week ago. Harmony Grove beat Junction City 20-14 Week 0, amassing 306 total yards. Senior all-league performer Mecca Arnold ran for 96 yards and three touchdowns, while recording a team-high 11 tackles at Junction City. Sophomore linebacker Lane Davis logged 10 stops in his first varsity start.  Fordyce fashioned a 14-0 lead Week 0 at Rison but had to come from behind twice in the fourth quarter for a 29-28 victory. Fordyce senior playmaker Ja'Quez Cross ran 11 times for 132 yards with a TD and he caught TD passes covering 72 and 44 yards. Senior QB Jaheim Brown completed eight of 13 passes at Rison for 231 yards and two TDs and he ran for the game-winning two-point conversion with 2:20 remaining. Fordyce rolled up 381 yards and forced four turnovers at Rison.

1-3A
Green Forest at CEDARVILLE (28): Cedarville allowed Class 2A Mountainburg 97 yards last week in a 34-6 victory of a game that was called in the third quarter due to lightning. Junior running back Darryl Kattich ran for 163 yards and three TDs and he caught an 18-yard TD pass from Cody Dickens (68 yards passing). Fullback Hayden Partain ran for 58 yards and a score and Lane Hightower intercepted a pass. 
POTTSVILLE (17) at Charleston: Class 4A Dardanelle shut out Charleston for the second straight season last week in a 27-point victory. Charleston committed 12 penalties and two turnovers at Dardanelle.
GREENLAND (7) at Danville: This is Danville's season opener. Danville junior QB Lawson Wilkins quickly learned first-year coach Drew Smyly's Flexbone during the off-season. Danville fields 24 varsity players this fall. Class 4A Elkins gashed Greenland 46-28 a week ago despite Greenland senior QB Gabe Wilson completing 12 of 20 passes for 231 yards and two TDs and senior tailback Jett Dennis taking off for 131 yards and a score. Dennis caught four passes for 107 yards and another TD. 
Panama, Okla. at HACKETT (10): Hackett beat Pocola, Oklahoma 68-42 last week behind senior all-state performer Avery Hester's 371 yards passing with four TDs. Avery Hester returned an interception for another score. Weston Winters ran for 130 yards and four scores and Peyton Hester snagged 10 passes for 277 yards and three TDs. 
HUNTSVILLE (2) at Lincoln: Lincoln playmaker Daytin Davis has caught two TD passes this season.
ELKINS (25) at Mansfield: Class 4A Waldron beat Mansfield 41-0 last Friday night, Mansfield's first scoreless outing since Waldron shut them out in 2016. Mansfield has allowed and scored 41 points apiece in its 1-1 start.
Lavaca at MOUNTAINBURG (6): Paris led Lavaca 32-0 two weeks ago in the second quarter before losing 32-12. Class 2A Mountainburg managed just 97 yards in last week's 34-6 loss to Cedarville. 
PARIS (6) at West Fork: Paris playmaker Ely Fore returned the opening kickoff for a TD in last week's 62-6 win over Class 2A Johnson County Westside. Paris is 2-0 for the first time since 2014. West Fork's two wins are its most since 2015 and the Tigers are 2-0 for the first time since 2014 after slipping Hazen 19-12 a week ago. West Fork fullback Ross Ivy ran for 100 yards and a TD against Hazen.

Riverview at BALD KNOB (9): Riverview blasted Bald Knob 42-14 last fall when these schools were members of the 2-4A. Riverview sophomore QB Harley Sawtelle accounted for 65 yards on a TD drive in last week's 33-12 loss to Class 4A CAC. Bald Knob playmaker Brayden Cline caught a 33-yard TD pass and ran for another TD last week in a win over Cedar Ridge.
Bauxite at NEWPORT (3): Newport averages 46 points per game in its 2-0 start. The Greyhounds forced three turnovers and surrendered just 20 yards in the first half of last week's 45-6 win at Class 4A Heber Springs. Newport senior running back Tharon Davis ran for 115 yards and three scores before halftime. Sophomore QB Dejai Marshall completed all 11 pass attempts for 135 yards and three scores. Junior linebackers Antwan Hardaway and Jakevin Davis racked up eight tackles apiece. Class 4A Bauxite surrendered 197 rushing yards last week in a loss to Monticello.
Cave City at MELBOURNE (8): Melbourne is 7-1 all time against Cave City, including a 35-8 decision in 2019. Melbourne is 2-0 for the second straight season and third time in four years. Melbourne senior Eli Harrell returned a punt 70 yards for a TD in last week's 34-6 win over Quitman. Melbourne senior tailback Ryan Worsham took off for a 52-yard, second-quarter TD against Quitman. Melbourne outscored Quitman 20-0 after halftime.
Dover at SALEM (14): Salem scored the final 20 points in last week's 34-14 win against Walnut Ridge and Salem allowed no points in the final three quarters. Senior QB Gavin Guiltner completed 12 of 17 passes for 208 yards and three TDs and Darius Brown snagged six passes for 158 yards and two scores. Salem rolled up 428 yards against Walnut Ridge. Salem senior lineman Chance Jackson is likely out this week but is expected back before league play begins.
Heber Springs at HARDING ACADEMY (28): Harding Academy has won four of the last five meetings. Harding's 50-49 victory last season was its closest outcome en route to a 15-0 record and state championship. Harding logged 453 yards in last week's 44-20 win at Class 4A Mena. Harding senior playmaker Ty Duggar scored four TDs at Mena, including a 26-yard interception return. Harding senior QB Caden Sipe threw for 276 yards and two TDs.
HECTOR (4) at Mountain View: Mountain View sophomore QB Elijah Carlton bolted 46 yards for a TD in last week's 47-16 loss at Hoxie. C.J. Rose ran for 61 yards at Hoxie. Sophomore QB Trampas Stubbs connected with classmate Lane Miller for a TD in the fourth quarter.

3-3A
Corning at YELLVILLE-SUMMIT (1): Corning drags a six-game losing streak into this game after Class 4A Cave City beat it 34-2 a week ago. It was the first time Corning did not score an offensive TD since a 27-0 loss last season to Rector.
Walnut Ridge at E. Poinsett County: Cancelled due to covid quarantines at Walnut Ridge. 
Osceola at GOSNELL (1): Osceola is 0-2 for the first time since 2016, when the Seminoles finished 2-8. The Seminoles surrendered a fumble return for a TD and a kickoff return for a score in last week's 25-24 loss at Class 4A Blytheville. Osceola racked up 300 total yards against Blytheville (189 passing and 111 rushing). 
GREENE CO. TECH (7) at Harrisburg: Harrisburg beat Class 4A Trumann last week for the first time since 2015. The Hornets claimed a 30-13 lead late in the fourth quarter of the Battle of Highway 163 before holding on for a 30-25 win. Harrisburg senior QB Drew Wright completed 10 of 14 passes for 155 yards and a TD and junior QB Samuel Moore hit on six of nine passes for 83 yards with two scores. Jacob Wallace caught six passes for 100 yards and a score and he racked up 12 tackles on defense.
HIGHLAND (1) at Piggott: Piggott beat St. Pius, Missouri 12-0 last week, the Mohawks' first shutout since 2018. Piggott senior QB Tanner Dixon ran for two scores against St. Pius. Piggott's 3-3A rival Walnut Ridge beat Class 4A Highland 26-22 two weeks ago. Highland has lost 17 of its past 18 games. 
HOXIE (3) at Jonesboro Westside: Hoxie has won six of 11 in this series. Hoxie scored on its first seven possessions of last week's 47-16 victory over Mountain View. Hoxie senior QB Daylon Powell connected on all five pass attempts for 185 yards and three TDs and he ran for 45 yards and another score.
Manila at MARKED TREE (1): Manila managed just 183 yards in last week's 22-7 loss to Class 2A East Poinsett County. Manila junior Coby Taylor ran 1 yard for a TD at EPC.
Marvell at PALESTINE-WHEATLEY (1): Palestine-Wheatley lost 28-27 last week at Class 2A Marked Tree despite recording 273 yards and converting three of four fourth downs. The Patriots forced two turnovers. Palestine senior QB Bryce Hobson completed eight of 13 passes for 152 yards and two TDs and he ran for 37 yards and another score. Palestine running back Aviean Smith added a 4-yard TD. 

4-3A
ATKINS (35) at Conway Christian: Atkins won the Rivals Cup for the third straight season last week with a 48-14 victory over Class 4A Dover. Atkins led 21-0 in the first quarter. Atkins senior running back Anthony Nooner ran for 98 yards and three TDs and snagged a 74-yard TD pass. Senior receiver Kreed Stubbs (4.5 speed) racked up 214 all-purpose yards with two scores.
GREENLAND (7) at Danville: This is Danville's season opener. Danville junior QB Lawson Wilkins quickly learned first-year coach Drew Smyly's Flexbone during the off-season. Danville fields 24 varsity players this fall. Class 4A Elkins gashed Greenland 46-28 a week ago despite Greenland senior QB Gabe Wilson completing 12 of 20 passes for 231 yards and two TDs and senior tailback Jett Dennis taking off for 131 yards and a score. MAYFLOWER (1) at Fountain Lake: Mayflower trailed Class 4A Southside Batesville just 7-0 into the fourth quarter of last Friday's 28-13 loss.
Two Rivers at J.C. WESTSIDE (2): Class 2A Yellville-Summit downed Two Rivers 42-6 last week after Two Rivers was scoreless on four trips inside the red zone. Two Rivers receiver Hayden Smith caught seven passes, including a 34-yard TD pass, against Yellville.
PARIS (6) at West Fork: Paris playmaker Ely Fore returned the opening kickoff for a TD in last week's 62-6 win over Class 2A Johnson County Westside. Paris is 2-0 for the first time since 2014. West Fork's two wins are its most since 2015 and the Tigers are 2-0 for the first time since 2014 after slipping Hazen 19-12 a week ago. West Fork fullback Ross Ivy ran for 100 yards and a TD against Hazen.
Perryville at BIGELOW (1): Home team has won the past eight meetings. Perryville outlasted Class 2A Mount Ida 17-14 last week when sophomore Easton Walker kicked the eventual game-winning 23-yard field goal in the fourth quarter. Perryville recorded 22 first downs and allowed Mount Ida just five first downs. Perryville looks to clean up three turnovers it committed this week.
Baptist Prep and Booneville are open.

5-3A
Bismarck at POYEN (25): Bismarck was tied 20-20 with Class 2A Magnet Cove a week ago but lost 28-20. Magnet outgained Bismarck 267-261 and recorded five more first downs (17-12). Bismarck sophomore QB Ian Smith fired TD passes to Braven Golden (54 yards) and Braden Efird (52 yards) against Magnet Cove.
H. GROVE HASKELL (3) at Centerpoint: Centerpoint lost its season-opener last Monday 12-10 at Class 2A Hampton but beat Class 2A Murfreesboro 28-14 on Friday night. Murfreesboro led Centerpoint 14-7 at halftime but Centerpoint scored the final 21 points to pull away for the victory. H. Grove Haskell was tied 14-14 last week at halftime at Jessieville but lost 42-27. Haskell surrendered 260 rushing yards in the defeat.
Mineral Springs at FOUKE (8): Fouke was idle last week after losing 36-7 Week 0 at Mountain View when the Panthers surrendered 416 yards of offense (374 rushing). Fouke managed just 52 yards of offense in the second half at Mountain View.
GENOA CENTRAL (28) at Lafayette County: Genoa Central pummeled Class 2A power Foreman 28-6 a week ago. Genoa linebackers Harrison Wilson and Ryan Braden paced the defense while QB Trent Bearden completed four of six passes.
GLEN ROSE (14) at Magnet Cove: Class 4A Malvern slipped Glen Rose 33-27 last Friday after surrendering three rushing scores including a 75-yard scoring sprint to Malique Reliford. Glen Rose led Malvern 20-14 at halftime but gave up 19 unanswered points in the loss. Glen Rose senior QB Wesley Launius passed for 193 yards and three TDs while senior receiver Noah Wright collected seven passes for 135 yards and two scores.
MURFREESBORO (8) at Horatio: Class 2A Murfreesboro beat Horatio 50-24 a year ago. Horatio has lost 14 consecutive games, including five shutouts. Horatio managed just 55 yards in last week's 42-0 loss to Class 2A Dierks. Horatio lost five fumbles.
Mount Ida at JESSIEVILLE (10): Jessieville rolled up 399 yards in last week's 42-27 victory over Class 4A Haskell Harmony Grove. Jessieville playmaker Matthew Huff ran for 225 yards and four TDs against Harmony Grove.
Parkers Chapel at PRESCOTT (36): Prescott erased a late 36-35 deficit for a 43-36 win at Class 2A power Gurdon a week ago. Prescott senior running back Alex George scored the game-winning TD with 1:47 left in regulation. Prescott senior QB Jacobi Nolen ran 16 times for 100 yards and a TD and he completed eight of 12 passes for 215 yards and two scores. Prescott recorded 428 yards and 16 first downs at Gurdon.

6-3A
FORDYCE (7) at C. Harmony Grove: See Hootens.com Game of the Week.
DES ARC (34) at Barton: Class 2A Clarendon led Barton 59-14 last week when it won 65-22. Barton senior receiver Hykeem Hancock caught a 53-yard TD pass from Harley Wright, who added a 16-yard scoring sprint. Barton's Jordan Thomas ran 28 yards for a TD. Barton had 54 yards at halftime against Clarendon.
Drew Central at DEWITT (6): Class 2A Poyen beat Drew Central 35-0 last Week, outgaining the Pirates 458-52. Drew Central was 0 for 9 on third downs.
TEXARKANA (8) at Dollarway: Dollarway managed just 90 yards in last week's 12-6 loss to Class 6A Pine Bluff. Junior QB Briveon Sample ran for 23 yards and a TD. Senior Prince Okojie paced the defense with 12 tackles. Class 5A Texarkana's first two games were canceled due to COVID 19.
RISON (40) at England: Rison dropped a thriller Week 0 to defending Class 2A champion Fordyce by one point after claiming leads of 20-14 and 28-21 in the second half. Rison senior safety Trent Lawson intercepted two Fordyce passes. Fordyce rolled up 381 yards against Rison and Rison committed four turnovers. Shaquan Reeves ran for 86 yards against Fordyce and QB Cole Keese bolted for 84 yards.
LAKE VILLAGE (8) at Strong: Opponents outscore Lake Village 89-6 during the Beavers' 0-2 start. Lake Village allowed 453 yards in last week's 43-0 loss at Class 4A Dumas.
McGehee at DUMAS (1): Class 4A Dumas has won four of five in this series. McGehee surrendered 130 yards and forced a turnover in last week's 36-6 win over Class 4A Dewitt. Dewitt scored its TD on an 85-yard kickoff return. The Owls rolled up 339 yards against Dewitt. McGehee averaged more than 6 yards per carry against Dewitt.
Smackover is open.
