7A GAME OF THE WEEK
No. 8 Har-Ber at Class 6A Greenwood
This game was scheduled Sunday night after FS Northside canceled its game with Greenwood in reaction to a potential virus outbreak. It’ll be the first meeting for Har-Ber with Greenwood since 2009. Winless Har-Ber had its chances the past two weeks against both Jenks (Okla.) and at North LR. Har-Ber forced two turnovers and committed none in its 41-28 loss last Friday at North LR. Senior linebacker Will Haney (5-9, 175; 280-pound bench press) stars for Har-Ber and junior quarterback Drue McClendon has played well, Coach Chris Wood says. Har-Ber had critical dropped passes last week at North LR but no turnovers while making two interceptions.  Greenwood returned the opening kick 94 yards last week, and its defense limited FS Southside to 75 yards and four first downs in a 42-3 win. The Bulldogs continue to pass it quick to receivers underneath in first-year former assistant Chris Young’s first season as head coach.  Har-Ber last played Greenwood in 2009.

WEEK 2 PREDICTIONS (favored team in CAPS followed by points spread)
7A CENTRAL
CABOT (14) at El Dorado: Cabot scored with 1:35 remaining to avoid upset last Friday at Class 6A Jonesboro. Jonesboro outgained Cabot 415-284 yards, but backup quarterback Grant Freeman led the Panthers on a 12-play, 80-yard scoring drive to win 36-32.
Bentonville West at LR CENTRAL (1): Both bounced back from season-opening losses to win  last Friday against far-less competition. LR Central beat Class 5A LR Hall while West waxed Muskogee, (Okla.) 41-0.
CONWAY (7) at Jonesboro: Conway beat Fayetteville in its opener but crashed against physical Bentonville (47-21) last Friday. Conway’s defensive front struggled to slow Bentonville, especially in the second half when the Wampus Cats were outscored 30-7. Class 6A Jonesboro totaled 520 yards (23 first downs) and led Cabot 32-28 late last week.
Fayetteville at NORTH LR (15): North LR opened last week with a 41-28 win over Har-Ber. Winless Fayetteville lost at Conway in its opener and last week to Owasso (Okla.) 31-17. Look for North LR to push around less-physical Fayetteville.
BENTON (14) at LR Southwest: Southwest led at West Memphis 16-6 two weeks ago but was no challenge for Classs 6A LR Parkview (48-0) last Friday. The Gryphons have been outscored 73-0 the last six quarters. Benton had last week off after losing to No. 1 Bryant 48-7 in its opener.
FS Northside is open.
Bryant is open.
LR Catholic is open.

7A WEST
Har-Ber at GREENWOOD (7): Game of the Week.
SPRINGDALE (7) at Farmington: Springdale dual-threat junior QB Landon Phipps has completed 14 of 18 passes (78 percent) this year for 132 yards and has ran for five TDs. Class 5A Farmington downed Heritage 24-6 two weeks ago, its first win over a Class 7A school. Farmington totaled just 91 yards in last week’s loss to Class 4A rival Prairie Grove.
BENTONVILLE (4) at Kansas City (Mo.) Rockhurst: Bentonville wowed in its opener, manhandling Conway. Bentonville seniors Cole Joyce (6-0, 220) and Keegan Stinespring (5-11, 205) are arguably the best linebacker duos in the state. Rockhurst will challenge with better linemen than Conway but not better skill players.
BENTONVILLE WEST (2) at LR Central: Both bounced back from season-opening losses to win  last Friday against far-less competition. LR Central beat Class 5A LR Hall while West waxed Muskogee, (Okla.) 41-0.
Fayetteville at NORTH LR (15): North LR opened last week with a 41-28 win over Har-Ber. Winless Fayetteville lost at Conway in its opener and last week to Owasso (Okla.) 31-17. Look for North LR to push around less-physical Fayetteville.
FS Southside at RUSSELLVILLE (1): FS Southside has been outscored 77-10 this season. Class 6A Russellville had last week off after beating Class 5A Morrilton 15-10 in its opener.
Rogers is open.
Heritage is open.
