NO. 15 BEEBE (2-0) at Vilonia (1-1): Vilonia has won 13 of the past 19 over rival Beebe, with Beebe winning 39-7 a year ago. Beebe has beaten 5A East teams Nettleton and Greene County Tech the past 2 weeks by a combined 66-23. Beebe WR Kaleb O'Neill, in his first game of the year, caught 2 passes for 123 yards and 2 TDs in last week's 45-6 win over Greene County Tech, while WR Demarco Moore caught 3 passes for 118 yards and 1 TD. Senior QB Mason Harbin (7-11-261-3) commanded the offense, Coach Justin Bigham says. The Badgers only ran 29 offensive plays against GCT.

Vilonia won at Class 6A Sylvan Hills 31-12 in the opener and lost to Maumelle 32-21 a week ago. Vilonia senior QB Skyler Cole threw 3 TD passes vs. Maumelle, while constantly dealing with Maumelle's blitzkrieg defensive front 4.

5A EAST

CLASS 6A BENTON (1-1) at No. 2 Harding Academy (1-1): These teams are meeting for the first time. Benton opened the season with a 10-point loss to Class 7A power Bryant, and beat Class 7A North Little Rock 42-13 last week. Junior QB Drew Davis threw 3 TD passes and sophomore RB T.J. Williams ran for 2 TDs vs. North LR. Harding Academy evened its record at 1-1 last week, beating Central Arkansas Christian 38-14. Senior RB Trenton Hall (150 yards, 2 TDs) and junior RB Christian Bubbus (120 yards rushing, 35 receiving and 2 TDs) played well. “Benton is elite,” Harding Academy Coach Neil Evans says. “They are sound in every way. This is possibly the best team we've ever played.”

NO. 20 BROOKLAND (2-0) at Class 4A Bald Knob (0-2): Bald Knob managed 152 yards in last week's 36-14 loss to Class 2A Des Arc. Brookland beat Pocahontas 21-14 last week by forcing 3 turnovers. Senior Calvin Spearmon led the Bearcats with 8 tackles and returned an interception for a TD. Spearmon also ran for a TD and caught a TD pass. Senior LB Sam Walton (11 tackles) and senior DT Javan Payne (10 tackles, 4 TFL) played solid defense.

5A SOUTH

NO. 14 MAGNOLIA (2-0) at Class 4A Hamburg (2-0): Hootens.com Class 4A Game of the Week. Hamburg beat Magnolia in 2012 and 2013. Magnolia rallied from a 14-0 first-quarter deficit last week to down Bauxite 38-22. The Panthers ran for 195 yards and Antonio Brooks caught 4 passes for 76 yards, including a 45-yard TD. Hamburg jumped on Dumas 10-0 early last week and cruised to a 31-0 victory. The Lions defense allowed 120 yards, with LB Peyton Sellers racking up 13 tackles. Nikel Lewis led the offense with 23 carries, 170 yards and 3 TDs. “Magnolia is very athletic and fast,” Hamburg Coach Blake Johnson says. “We have to keep them in front of us and tackle well in space.”

Hope (0-2) at CLASS 3A PRESCOTT (2-0): Prescott has beaten Hope 17 of the past 23 meetings, including last season 41-38 in overtime. Prescott, ranked No. 1 in Class 3A, beat Salem 31-22 two weeks ago. Prescott senior QB Decari Prater has 409 yards and 6 TDs this season. Hope trailed Ashdown 18-14 in the third quarter last week before losing 26-14. Hope's offense has struggled this year, scoring 2 TDs and totaling 239 yards in 2 games.

5A WEST

NO. 15 BEEBE (2-0) at Vilonia: Hootens.com Class 5A Game of the Week.

CLARKSVILLE (0-2) at Class 4A Dover: Clarksville has beaten Dover 6 of the past 8 meetings. Clarksville, on a 22-game losing streak, has displayed signs of improvement despite losing Ozark and Pottsville by a combined 62-19. Angel Alvarez threw a TD pass to Juan Gonzalez in the fourth quarter of last week's 31-6 loss to Pottsville. Dover QB Talvin Leavell (8-15-107-2 passing; 5-30-1 rushing) and RBs Matthew Honeycutt (20-91) and Timothy Callans (9-73) played well 2 weeks ago in a 41-26 setback to rival Atkins.
