HOOTENS.COM GAME OF THE WEEK
No. 6 Searcy at No. 5 Marion
Marion rushed for 713 yards in last week's 84-51 win at Greene County Tech.
Senior running back Tre Franklin ran 19 times for 263 yards and six touchdowns. "Our offensive line seems to be picking up the (mental) part of the game," Marion coach Mark Uhiren says, "and our young ‘backs are catching on a bit." Franklin has rushed for 687 yards and 13 TDs this fall. "He's the real deal," Searcy coach Tim Harper says. "Last week we had (Morrilton junior RB) Jamar Criswell and I felt like we shut him down. We know Marion's going to get yards, hopefully we limit the long runs and cause them to throw the ball."

Searcy rushed for 281 yards in last week's 29-27 win over Morrilton. The Lions led 29-14 in the fourth quarter before giving up two late scores. Searcy gave up a fourth-quarter TD in a 37-22 win over Batesville two weeks ago. "That's going to catch up with us," Harper says. "We've got to work on finishing every possession and finishing a ball game." Senior quarterback Dezmond Stegall has passed for more than 600 yards and seven TDs this season. "He's a pretty good hand and is running the show," Uhiren says. "It will be quite a feat to corral him. Defensively they're solid. They hustle to the ball and have size we don't."
