HOOTENS.COM GAME OF THE WEEK
Marshall (1-2) at CORNING (2-2) Bobcats tangle Friday night in Clay County when Corning plays host to Marshall. Corning, has been a disruptive force in its first season of 8-man competition, upsetting Izard County in Week 1 and knocking off Cutter Morning Star in Week 2. Marshall's best performance came in a 30-20 loss to Subiaco Academy. Bryce Griffin leads Marshall in offensive production, running behind an O-line anchored by Adam Ray Harris. Jakob Cox has been a force the past 2 weeks.
GENOA CENTRAL (1-1) at Parkers Chapel (1-2) Genoa Central, which prides itself on a strong defense with relentless pursuit, held Woodlawn to 14 points last Friday. Parkers Chapel competed with a quick Strong team, but couldn’t get over the hump in the second half.
Cutter Morning Star (2-1) at SUBIACO ACADEMY (3-1):Subiaco bounced back from a home loss to Mountain View with a 30-20 win over Marshall. Cutter Morning Star celebrated homecoming with its second win, beating Rose Bud. Subiaco safety Anthony Gherig matches up with Cutter Morning Star QB Payton Mills.
Spring Hill (2-2) at BRINKLEY (2-1) Spring Hill had last week's scheduled game with Augusta canceled, and Brinkley fills in to replace Hermitage this week. Brinkley RB Jeremiah Harris is always ready to run.
IZARD COUNTY CONSOLIDATED (2-2) at Midland (1-2) Izard County fell 44-8 last week to Mountain View, the top-ranked Unsanctioned team. ICC produced 272 total yards. Midland beat Hermitage 52-8, with Chase Rascoe accounting for 4 TDs.
CEDAR RIDGE (1-2) at Rose Bud (0-3): Cedar Ridge lost to Fountain Lake 28-20 last Friday, but Scott Morgan’s club has improved offensively and defensively every game this fall. Rose Bud can score behind QB Bryce Walls, but its defense is yielding 58.7 points per game.
MOUNTAIN VIEW (3-0) at Fountain Lake (1-2): This is a rematch of last season's Unsanctioned championship game won by Mountain View, 52-32, on its home field. This time, Mountain View travels to Garland County. Fountain Lake will need to slow down Mountain View QB Drew Shelton or RB Drew Isbell.
