GAME OF THE WEEK
No. 6 Clarendon at No. 1 Fordyce
Top-ranked Fordyce managed 155 yards last week in a 26-7 loss to Class 4A Monticello, ending the Redbugs' five-game winning streak over the Billies. The Fordyce defense gave up four completions for 150 yards and two TDs at Monticello. It allowed 149 passing yards and two TDs two weeks ago in a 22-20 win over Class 3A Camden Harmony Grove. Clarendon senior QB Kaleb Williams has completed 25 of 49 passes this fall for 561 yards and six TDs. Last week, he connected on eight of 10 passes for 188 yards and four TDs in a 48-0 blowout of EPC. Junior WR Terrance Hampton caught four passes for 151 yards and three TDs. MCCRORY (1) at Marked Tree: With five starters out, McCrory committed five turnovers last week in a 31-24 overtime loss to Class 3A Baptist Prep. Marked Tree junior RB Willie Marshall has rushed for 165 and 175 yards the past two weeks. In last week's 44-24 win over Class 3A Piggott, Marshall ran for three TDs, caught a TD pass and returned a kickoff for a TD. MT held Piggott to 63 rushing yards. EARLE (2) at Cross County: Cross County did not play Class 3A Barton last week due to covid quarantines. Earle took advantage of one of three Des Arc turnovers in a 12-6 loss. Following a Des Arc fumble, Earle drew a pass interference flag on fourth-and-20 and scored three plays later for its lone TD. Earle held Des Arc to 188 rushing and 40 passing yards.

J.C. Westside at MOUNTAINBURG (1): Mountainburg has been outscored 79-0 in two losses to Class 3A Lavaca and Hackett. J.C. Westside senior LB Brady Funk recorded seven tackles and a fumble recovery in last week's 40-14 loss to Lavaca.
BIGELOW (35) at Magazine: Both teams were idle last week. Two weeks ago, Bigelow big-played Class 3A rival Perryville 35-8. Senior QB Keithlin Brown retuned a punt 80 yards for a TD, while senior RB Hunter Alexander caught a 75-yard TD pass. The Bigelow defense allowed one first down and recorded six sacks. Two weeks ago, Magazine's O line opened running lanes for all-state RB Ashton Droemer (147 yards) in a 14-6 win over the Waldron JV.
Yellville-Summit at HECTOR (16): Y-S was idle last week, while Hector amassed 322 yards in a 33-21 win over Class 3A Danville. Senior LB Jonathan Kelley leads Hector this fall with 23 tackles, followed by senior LB Drake Riley with 20 stops and an interception. Two weeks ago, Y-S committed three turnovers and allowed a fake punt for a TD fourth-and-9 in a 20-6 loss to Class 3A Corning.
QUITMAN (37) at Conway Christian: A week ago, senior Quitman QB Will Litton completed 18 of 22 passes last week for 183 yards and two TDs in a 48-27 loss to Class 3A Mountain View. Senior WR Trevor Locke caught 10 of those passes for 97 yards. Conway Christian WR/DB Drew Cochran (4.1 GPA) is the First Community Bank Scholar Athlete of the Week

Foreman at GURDON (21): Gurdon senior RB C.J. Dickerson has rushed 30 times this fall for 426 yards, while senior Andruw Jones has completed 11 of 15 passes for 300 yards and five TDs without an interception. Junior LB Josh Turner paces Gurdon with 23 tackles. Foreman sophomore ATH Tyrance Marks accounted for more than 100 yards and a team-high 13 tackles last week in a 17-0 loss to Class 3A Horatio. Senior LB DeJames Powell leads Foreman this fall with 38 tackles. 
Magnet Cove at DIERKS (1): Magnet Cove coming off a 35-8 win over Parkers Chapel and one of its better efforts since 2019. MC ran for more than 300 yards, led by junior RB Julius McClellan's 139 yards on 11 carries. Senior RB Brett Williams toted nine times for 99 yards and three TDs. Senior DL Chris Medina (eight tackles, one sack) and sophomore DE Luke Harper spearhead a swarming defense. Dierks (0-3) has lost to Class 3A Bismarck (48-7), Horatio (25-21) and Jessieville (48-33). A week ago, Dierks was flagged 12 times for 75 yards at Jessieville and outscored 20-6 in the fourth quarter. Junior RB Eli Sharp led Dierks with 178 rushing yards (10.5 ypc) and three TDs. Senior Konnor Shelton carried 19 times for 105 yards.
MOUNT IDA (24) at Mineral Springs: Mount Ida led Bearden 41-6 at halftime a week ago and won 48-6. Junior RB Baylor Bates ran for four TDs. Senior linebackers Gavin Summitt and Blake Collum lead MI in tackles with 20 apiece. Summitt has recorded two sacks; Collum four TFL. Mineral Springs junior receiver Cameronm Williams has caught a team-high 11 passes this fall for 73 yards. Junior safety L.D. Franklin has posted eight TFL and two sacks.
Poyen vs. MOUNTAIN VIEW (18): Class 3A Mountain View completes its three-game sweep of 2A opponents, having already handled Hector (39-7) and Quitman (48-27). Poyen was idle last week when Murfreesboro cancelled due to covid quarantines. Two weeks ago, Poyen lost to Class 3A Bismarck 32-14. Poyen senior QB Colton Lowe ran for 82 yards in that loss.

As a result, Murfreesboro did not play last week at Poyen, while PC lost at Magnet Cove 35-8. Junior TB/LB Payton Willeford leads PC in tackles, while sophomore LBs Noah Cox (28 tackles) and Malachi Sanders (27) pace the Murfreesboro defense. Magnet Cove defeated Murfreesboro 42-7 Week 0.
HAMPTON (8) at Lafayette County: Both teams seeking first win of season. A week ago, LC senior lineman Tahj Sanders earned the Cougars' top blocking grade and Demarrion Dedner caught a 74-yard TD pass in a 42-13 loss to Class 3A Genoa Central. Hampton lost 55-7 to Class 4A Star City but suffered no injuries. Senior RB/LB Zy Johnson leads Hampton this fall in rushing (238 yards) and tackles (28).

JUNCTION CITY (2) at Beebe: No. 4 JC allowed 8 yards per attempt last week in a 40-28 loss to Louisiana small school power, Haynesville. HHS big-played JC with an 83-yard TD pass and two TD runs of more than 40 yards. JC averaged 7.9 yards per carry but had 19 fewer rushing attempts (29 for 230 yards) than Hayesnville. Class 5A Beebe has dropped consecutive games to Morrilton and Lonoke by a combined 11 points.
