NO. 5 HS LAKESIDE (2-1) at No. 9 Camden Fairview (2-1): Camden Fairview has won 13 of the past 18 over the Rams, but HS Lakeside won 34-20 a year ago, and the games in 2021-2022 were decided by a total of 9 points. Camden Fairview has beaten Arkadelphia and Pine Bluff this fall, and its loss by 35-34 to Class 6A El Dorado. Senior QB Darrell Atkins has passed for 731 yards and 7 TDs this fall, with zero interceptions, and he's rushed for 121 yards and 4 TDs. Senior LB Jerome Williams (46 tackles) has developed into the defensive leader.
HS Lakeside beat Class 6A Lake Hamilton and Sheridan before losing to Joe T. Robinson 24-19 two weeks ago. Senior RB Grady Ohman (63-507-11 rushing) leads the Rams offense, along with QB Wally Wolcott (29-52-543-3 passing). Junior LB Luke Wrublesky (26 tackles), junior safety Chris Ford (24 tackles, 2 interceptions), and junior ILB Cannon Martin (23 tackles, 8 TFL, and 3 sacks) pace the Rams defense.

Watson Chapel (1-2) at NO. 3 JOE T. ROBINSON (2-1): Joe T. Robinson has won consecutive games after its season-opening loss to Class 7A Pulaski Academy. The Senators led HS Lakeside 17-0 early in the third quarter 2 weeks ago and held on for a 24-19 decision. QB Tyson Bradden threw 2 TDs, then saved the game late in the fourth quarter by hitting Michael Hayes on a 26-yard pass to convert a 4th-and-5. Senior Nick Abrams scored twice, including the game-winner. Watson Chapel beat Crossett 19-7 three weeks ago and forfeited its matchup with Mills in Week 2.
NO. 7 MAUMELLE (2-1) at Beebe (2-1): QB Levi Warrior passed for 133 yards and 2 TDs, both to BJ Beets, in Maumelle's 32-21 win over Vilonia 2 weeks ago. Jacob Henry led the Hornets' ground attack with 85 yards and 2 TDs, while Austin Timmons returned an interception for a TD. Beebe outgained Vilonia 278-256 last week, but lost 28-14 after committing 2 turnovers.
PINE BLUFF (0-3) at Jacksonville (1-2): Winless Pine Bluff has been outscored 76-6 this fall. Coach Michael Williams says his defense has played well, led by DL Danny Johnson, LB Marshon Jordan and DT Emmanuel Hudson. Jacksonville beat Lonoke 8-7 in Week 1 but lost to DeWitt 35-7 in its last game 2 weeks ago.
NO. 8 SEARCY (2-1) at White Hall (0-3): Winless White Hall showed improvement 2 weeks ago in a 34-12 setback to Morrilton. The Bulldogs turned the ball over 4 times (twice in the red zone). Senior RB Kylon Davis ran 4 yards for a TD. Searcy beat Harrison 35-32 two weeks ago, with RB Curtis Goodrich running for 2 TDs. The Lions shifted sophomore Deandre Shockley from CB to safety and he responded with 28 tackles and 1 interception.
5A EAST
NO. 2 HARDING ACADEMY (1-2) at Greene Co. Tech (0-3): Harding Academy trailed Class 6A power Benton 21-14 in the second quarter last week before allowing 3 quick TDs and losing 63-21. Senior QB Owen Miller, a UCA commit, completed 22 of 33 passes for 234 yards and 2 TDs and he ran for 39 yards and 1 TD. Sophomore slot WR Joe Myles and senior DE Brody Myers also played well for the Wildcats. GCT returns to Class 5A after a 2-year stint in Class 6A. The Eagles have been outscored 109-25 this year.
NO. 10 WYNNE (2-1) at Brookland (3-0): Wynne has won all 4 meetings over Brookland, including last season 21-17. Wynne has won consecutive games over Forrest City and Lonoke. Linemen Abdul Fall, Tyler Roland, and Mac Ball have played well for the Yellowjackets, Coach Clay Totty says. Undefeated Brookland handled Bald Knob 35-6 last week by outgaining the Bulldogs 337-182 yards. The Bearcats jumped to a 35-6 advantage in the second quarter. QB Hayden Elder threw 3 TD passes while Calvin Spearman ran for 2 more. Senior DT Javan Payne (7 tackles), junior LB Easton Cunningham (7 tackles, 1 sack), and junior safety Dot Aloh (6 tackles, 1 interception) were defensive leaders.
NETTLETON (2-1) at Batesville (0-3): Batesville has won 18 of the past 23 over Nettleton, but Nettleton has won 4 of the past 6, including last season 34-20. Batesville gives up 46 points per game this season. The Pioneers managed 158 yards (72 passing, 86 rushing) 2 weeks ago in a 31-7 loss at Southside. Senior Camden Cline caught 5 passes for 62 yards. Nettleton beat Blytheville 26-20 two weeks ago. Senior QB Maddox Hampton (9-14-166-2) and junior RB Xavier Harrell (32-157) were offensive leaders, while senior DB Isaac Black (6 tackles, 1 interception), senior DE Keon Stallings (4 tackles) and LB Damin Coleman (8 tackles, 1 TFL) played well on defense.
Paragould (3-0) at NO. 6 VALLEY VIEW (3-0): Valley View has won all 14 of its meetings over Paragould. But this one could be tougher. Paragould is 3-0 for the first time since 1981. Paragould beat Hoxie 19-6 two weeks ago, behind RBs Cole Chipman (21-129-3) and Mikey Pekrul (13-95). Valley View is unbeaten and outscoring opponents 42-16. QB Drew Gartman has passed for 441 yards and 6 TDs and rushed for 447 yards and 4 TDs, while senior WR Andrew Jones has 15 receptions, 269 yards, and 4 TDs. Sophomore CB R.J. Estrick (3 INTs.) and sophomore SS Carter Wallace (17 tackles) have developed on defense.
5A SOUTH
NO. 5 HS LAKESIDE (2-1) at No. 9 Camden Fairview (2-1): Hootens.com Class 5A Game of the Week, above.
NO. 1 LR PARKVIEW (3-0) at No. 17 Hot Springs (1-2) (Thurs.): These teams play on Thursday for the second consecutive season. LR Parkview's 27-game win streak was snapped by Class 7A Bryant (30-10 loss) 2 weeks ago. The Patriots were dominated on both lines of scrimmage, with Parkview running the ball 40 times for 135 yards (3.4 ypc). Hot Springs lost to Alma 35-32 two weeks ago. QB Sean Elias had 450 yards vs. Alma, but Coach Darrell Burnett says the Trojans must cut down on turnovers (10 in 3 games). MLB Chris Seguin and DT LeBon Modacure have played well.
HOPE (0-3) at De Queen (2-1): Winless Hope has been outscored 42-7 weekly. Sophomore RBs Letravious Gomer (30-119) and A'marii Scott (29-103) are the top producers on offense. De Queen has beaten Horatio (35-0) and Lafayette County (19-18) the past 2 games, its first back-to-back wins since Week 6-7 of 2017.
Arkansas High (0-3) at MAGNOLIA (2-1): Arkansas High has won 3 of the past 5 over Magnolia. Winless Arkansas High has been outscored by an average of 38-19. Senior QB Will Dunbar (44-90-514-3) has played well. Magnolia started the season 2-0 before losing to Hamburg 28-26 last week. Senior RB Jamarion Young ran for 204 yards and 2 TDs. “He's special,” Arkansas High Coach Trey Outlaw says.
5A WEST
Morrilton (3-0) at NO. 4 GREENBRIER (2-1): Morrilton has won 11 of the past 21 in the series. The undefeated Devil Dogs whipped White Hall 34-12 two weeks ago. QB Maddox Berry hit WR Dante Cox on an 89-yard TD in the second quarter to break open the game. “Our quarterback and receivers have all been really good,” Morrilton Coach Cody McNabb says. Greenbrier sandwiched victories over Warren and Van Buren around a 10-7 setback to Russellville. LB Parker Roberts, DE Chandler Sanders, and CB Garrett James have played well this year, Coach Randy Tribble says.
VILONIA (2-1) at Clarksville (1-2): Clarksville snapped a 22-game losing streak with last week's 19-14 win over Dover. QB Angel Alvarez accounted for all 3 Panther TDs. Alvaraz ran for 120 yards and 2 TDs and completed 12 of 17 passes for 205 yards and 1 TD. Cyprus Tuck caught 8 passes for 89 yards and the TD, and on defense forced and recovered a fumble late in the game to secure the win. Denver Pickartz led the Panthers with 13 tackles. Vilonia knocked off previously unbeaten Beebe 28-14 a week ago. John Mason Holley, filling in at RB, running for 127 yards. CB Landon Jackson made 4 tackles and sealed the win with a fourth-quarter Pick-6.
ALMA (2-1) at Harrison (0-2): Alma has won 15 of the past 24 over Harrison, since the Golden Goblins beat Alma by 2 in Week 8, 1999, and by 3 points 6 weeks later in the state-title game.
Alma hasn't played since beating Hot Springs 35-32 in Week 2. The Airdales blocked a punt and recovered a muffed punt to spark the win. Harrison LBs Caydem Long and Ty Bundy have played well, along with DE Ben Estes and DL Brody Weeks.
FARMINGTON (2-1) at Pea Ridge (0-3): Farmington didn't play last week, but picked up a forfeit victory from Class 7A Har-Ber from Week 1. The Cardinals beat Prairie Grove 28-8 in Week 2 by scoring 3 TDs and forcing 2 turnovers in the second half. QB Ayden Lester ran for 63 yards, while Luke Elsik had 62 yards. Pea Ridge lost to Class 6A Siloam Springs 2 weeks ago 21-14. The Blackhawks were tied at 14-14 in the fourth quarter before Siloam Springs' running game took over late. QB Hudson White passed for 247 yards, including 164 yards with WR Brayden Wright.
