HOOTENS.COM GAME OF THE WEEK
Class No. 6 Van Buren at No. 10 Bryant: Bryant's homecoming date is undefeated. Van Buren, a Class 6A member playing in the 7A-Central conference, is 4-0 for the first time since 1999. Van Buren beat Little Rock Central 41-31 last week but led 41-10 with 10 minutes left before substituting. Its first-team defense didn't allow a score a week after shutting out Class 5A Harrison 35-0. Van Buren quarterback Tyler Spoon passed for a career-high 252 yards and three touchdowns against LR Central, hitting Drew White with 13 passes for 204 yards and the three scores. Bryant blasted Little Rock Catholic 31-7 in its conference opener, limiting the Rockets to 197 yards after allowing six first downs on a 14-play, 80-yard drive to start the game. Bryant blocked two punts and hurried another, intercepted two passes and sophomore quarterback Hayden Lessenberry completed 10 of 13 passes for 167 yards at LR Catholic. Bryant averages 33 points per game. Senior running back Stephen Clark averaged 8.3 yards per touch last week. Senior end Josh Hampton (32 tackles) leads the Hornet defense as "one of the most dominant players I've coached," coach Paul Calley says.

WEEK 5 PREDICTIONS (favored team in ALL CAPS followed by point spread)
7A/6A CENTRAL
CONWAY (13) at North LR. Conway starts 5-0 for the first time since 2002, the year Peyton Hillis and Kevin Wardlow led the Wampus Cats to the playoff semifinals. North LR committed six turnovers in its Week 3 loss at Springdale but only one in last Friday's win at Russellville.
LR Catholic at CABOT (14): Catholic drove for opening scores Week 2 against North LR and last week against Bryant, but the Rockets fizzled fast, losing those games by a combined 76-19. Cabot beat Class 4A Pulaski Academy 35-34 before losing the past two weeks by a combined 69-17.
Russellville at LR CENTRAL (3): LR Central's school record 25-game losing streak ends, especially if Russellville continues committing early turnovers. The Cyclones have fumbled or been intercepted on their first two series the past two weeks.
Van Buren at BRYANT (7): Game of the Week.

7A WEST
BENTONVILLE (1) at FS Southside: Bentonville lost twice last year to FS Southside. The 2008 state champion Tigers beat FS Southside twice, including the title game.
FAYETTEVILLE (7) at Springdale: Battle of the Bulldogs high scoring and close lately. Fayetteville beat Springdale 50-49 on a Saturday game last year in Fayetteville. Springdale won 55-27 two years ago at Jarrell Williams Bulldog Stadium.
ROGERS HERITAGE (21)
at Rogers: Heritage scored TDs on six of its eight first half possessions last Friday for a 41-13 lead over FS Northside. The War Eagles can better that this week against Rogers. The Mounites allowed six TDs in a combined span of 10 minutes during the first half a week ago at FS Southside. Rogers has lost 13 straight conference games.
SPRINGDALE HAR-BER (21) at FS Northside: Bad matchup for Northside. The undersized Grizzlies meet heavy Har-Ber featuring Arkansas Razorback commit Brey Cook (6-6, 295).

7A/6A EAST
Marion at WEST MEMPHIS (17): West Memphis outscores opponents 38.2 to 15 weekly. West Memphis' only loss was to 7A West member FS Southside. Marion's only loss was at Class 5A Wynne. Junior running back Trey Franklin, brother of Arkansas Razorback linebacker Jerry Franklin, ran for 114 yards and TD in Marion's 15-12 win at Searcy last week.
LR Hall at MOUNTAIN HOME (14): Hall committed three turnovers in the first three minutes of last week's 46-6 loss. Mountain Home beat Hall by 14 last year.
