Booneville has won six straight over Dardanelle since losing 28-8 at Dardanelle in 2007. The Bearcats won their 16th game in a row last week, beating Ozark 27-3. Senior fullback Bryson May ran 17 times for 100 yards and two touchdowns and he returned a fumble 13 yards for a score. Senior Justin Shackleford ran 17 times for 124 yards and a TD. Senior halfback Matt Berry sprained his ankle in the second quarter and will be a game-time decision. Senior HB Josh Smith did not play and will sit out the next two weeks. Junior tackle Raymond Chumley (6-3, 290) anchors Booneville's offensive line that "blew Ozark off the ball," Price says.
Dardanelle's favored to win its first conference title since 1987 when it went 12-1 and advanced to the semifinals. Senior quarterback Kristian Thompson accounted for four TDs in the first half during last week's 68-34 win over 4-3A member Danville. Senior Michael Dugan and juniors Chris Kershner and Daniel Craig each caught a TD pass. All-state senior running back T.J. Tucker ran for a pair of scores. Senior Parker Witt (6-2, 225) and sophomore Caden Brown (5-10, 260) spearhead the defensive line. Price will rotate four others up front to handle Booneville's blockers. And he will rely on Craig and senior Easton Carter to make plays at inside linebacker.
