No. 10 Rison (5-0, 2-0) at MCGEHEE (3-2, 2-0): Rison continues its strong run this season after beating Dumas 38-6. Christian Reeves (15 carries, 101 yards, 2 TDs) and Keyshaun Heard (7 catches, 78 yards, 1 TD) led the offense. “McGehee is tough and playing good football,” Rison Coach Chris Vereen says. “Going to have to play our best to have a chance.” McGehee defeated Lake Village 40-0. McGhee has opened conference play with 2 shutout victories.

NO. 2 BOONEVILLE (5-0, 2-0) at Greenland (3-2, 1-1): Booneville defeated Hackett 42-6 last Friday with Rhett Nietert (6 carries, 90 yards), Dylan Todd (81 yards rushing, 1 TD) and Damaro Poole (11 carries, 64 yards, 2 TDs) leading the offense. Booneville’s defense has allowed 6 points through the first 2 weeks of conference play. Greenland beat Cedarville 49-14 last week behind QB Slade Norwood (16-26 passing, 338 yards, 4 TDs) and WR Brandon Vaughn (7-147 receiving, 3 TDs) leading the way. Booneville has won the past 4 meetings. 

Hackett (2-3, 0-2) at NO. 9 CHARLESTON (2-3, 1-1): Hackett, which has lost 2 in a row in conference after a 2-1 start in nonconference, fell to Booneville 42-6 last week. Charleston fell to Mansfield 42-39 last week. Charleston has won 5 in a row against Hackett.

Lavaca (3-2, 2-0) at NO. 8 MANSFIELD (3-2, 2-0): Lavaca beat West Fork 13-7 last week. QB Cutler Winters (10-22 passing, 149 yards, 1 TD; 1 rushing TD) and Dalton Mullenix (3-57 receiving, 1 TD) led the Golden Arrows. Mansfield got a 42-39 win at Charleston last week. The Tigers had not beaten Charleston since 2019. Andrew Burton (30-177 rushing, 2 TDs) led the offense. “This is an important game,” Mansfield Coach Whit Overton says. “We have to regain focus after a big win last week.”

Cedarville (1-4, 0-2) at WEST FORK (0-5, 0-2): Cedarville lost 49-14 against Greeland on Friday, extending its losing streak to 4. Winless West Fork fell 13-7 to Lavaca. The Tigers will try to ride RB Bryson Whitmill and QB Cooper Ridenoure to get past the Pirates. 


2-3A

NO. 7 SALEM (3-2, 2-0) at Atkins (4-1, 2-0): Salem beat Episcopal 49-0 last week. Colton Smith (4-96 rushing), Caleb Leisenring (8-65 rushing) led the Greyhounds offense. The defense held Episcopal to 0 offensive yards behind Keagan Sanderson, who had 4 sacks. Atkins also recorded a shutout in a 42-0 win over Mountain View last weekend. QB Cole Crawford (8-16 passing, 176 yards, 3 TDs), Jaden Martin (14-140 rushing, 2 TDs) and Mason Martin (95-yard kickoff return TD) led the Red Devils. 

Melbourne (4-1, 1-1) at MAYFLOWER (5-0, 2-0): Melbourne beat Quitman last week 43-33 with QB Wyatt Buchanan (12-17 passing, 199 yards, 2 TDs), WR Tanner Williams (7-122 receiving, 1 TD) and RB Carson Medina (12-104 rushing, 2 TDs) led the Bearkatz. Mayflower beat Yellville-Summit 35-0 on Friday. QBs Tre Cockerham (4-5 passing, 132 yards, 2 TDs) and Carter Smith (13-15 passing, 148 yards, 3 TDs) spearheaded the offense. RB Devon Davis (15-72 rushing) and WR Kam Willis (3-63 receiving, 1 TD) contributed for the Eagles. 

QUITMAN (2-3, 1-1) at Episcopal (0-5, 0-2): Quitman fell to Melbourne 43-33 on Friday. QB Jordon Moore-Payne (24-40 passing, 279 yards, 3 TDs) and Bryson Thacker (7-117 receiving, 1 TD) led on offense. The defense was led by Cooper Holmes (12 tackles). Episcopal lost to Salem 49-0 and had 0 yards of offense. 

Mountain View (2-3, 0-2) at YELLVILLE-SUMMIT (2-3, 0-2): Both teams are coming in off shutout losses – Mountain View falling 42-0 to Atkins; Yellville-Summit lost 35-0 to Mayflower. These teams have split their past 4 meetings.

Piggott (0-5, 0-2) at WALNUT RIDGE (4-1, 1-1): Piggott, which fell to Harrisburg 33-6 last week, is on a XX-game losing streak dating back to November of 2021. Walnut Ridge fell 26-14 to conference opponent Osceola last Friday. Jersie Cunningham (33 carries, 125 yards) and Enrique Perez (23-131 rushing, 1 TD) led the Bobcats, who did not allow Osceola to score in the second half.

Hoxie (2-3, 1-1) at NO. 4 RIVERCREST (5-0, 2-0): Hoxie beat Manila 32-31 last week, riding a 2-man ground attack of Prechton WiIlkerson (33-232 rushing, 2 TDs) and Dillon Guthrie (23-143 rushing, 2 TDs). Rivercrest outlasted now No. 5 Newport 48-44 in a class of top 5 teams. Senior QB Cavonta Washington (15-21 passing, 254 yards, 2 TDs; 14-140 rushing, 2 TDs) and Buddah Harris (4-113 rushing, 1 TD) led the Colts offense. Rivercrest has won 3 straight against Hoxie. 

NO. 5 NEWPORT (4-1, 1-1) at Osceola (3-1, 2-0): Newport fell 48-44 to Rivercrest last week. QB Luke Reynolds (11-18 passing, 109 yards, 3 TD; 16-119 rushing, 1 TD), Kiandrea Barker (18-202 rushing, 2 TDs) and Demetric Denton (4-85 receiving, 3 TDs) led the Greyhounds. Osceola defeated Walnut Ridge 26-14 behind QB Tyler Bell, who rushed for a TD and threw 2 TD passes to Maurice Washington. The teams have split the past 4 meetings. 

MANILA (0-5, 0-2) at Harrisburg (1-4, 1-1): Manila is still seeking its first win after a near-miss 32-31 loss against Hoxie. Harrisburg beat Piggott 33-6 for its first win last week behind RB Jayvin Thompson (9 carries, 148 yards, 4 TDs). Harrisburg has won 3 of the past 5 meetings against the Lions. “We will need to execute at a high level and eliminate turnovers if we want to come out with a win.” Harrisburg Coach Austin Jarrett says.

Jessieville (4-1, 2-0) at GLEN ROSE (2-3, 2-0): Jessieville defeated Two Rivers 51-14 last week behind QB Dalton Ellison (165 passing, 100 rushing) and RB Gage Gaston (101 rushing, 2 TDs). “Glen Rose is better than their record indicates,” Jessieville Coach T.J. Burk says. “They are very physical in the run game and their QB also throws the ball well.” Glen Rose, which started the season 0-3 but is 2-0 in conference, beat Magnet Cove 49-42 last week. 

PERRYVILLE (4-1, 2-0) at Paris (3-2, 2-0): Perryville beat Danville 49-10 on Friday with Connor Frith (7-9 passing, 232 yards, 4 TDs), RB Jacob Saugey (10-120 rushing, 1 TD) and WR Ethan Evans (3 catches, 141 yards, 2 TDs) leading. Paris beat Cutter Morning Star 46-42 last week. Dimitri Capo scored 4 TDs for Paris.

Two Rivers (0-5, 0-2) at MAGNET COVE (2-3, 0-2): Two Rivers, seeking its first win since September of 2022, lost 51-14 against Jessieville last week. Magnet Cove, coming off a 49-42 loss to Glen Rose, is 0-2 in conference despite scoring 79 points in 2 games.

Danville (1-4, 0-2) at CUTTER MORNING STAR (1-4, 0-2): Danville lost its third in a row, falling 49-10 to Perryville last week. Cutter Morning Star fell 46-42 to Paris last week. The Eagles fell short despite a wild fourth-quarter comeback after being down 40-14 with 9 minutes to play.

NO. 1 PRESCOTT (5-0, 2-0) at Harmony Grove OC (3-2, 2-0): Prescott beat Horatio 63-0, with the Curley Wolves picking up 310 of their 356 in the first half. Prescott led 49-0 at halftime and played the second half with a running clock. QB Decari Prater passed for 3 TDs. Harmony Grove Ouachita County beat Fouke 52-48, and the Hornets have scored a combined 102 points over the first 2 games of conference play. 

Fouke (3-2, 0-2) at NO. 6 BISMARCK (5-0, 2-0): Fouke started the season 3-0, but lost for a second consecutive time – 52-48 to Harmony Grove OC. The Panthers are 0-2 in conference after a 3-0 nonconference start. Bismarck continues to roll after beating Smackover 36-27 last week. QB Ben Keithley led a third-quarter charge with 2 touchdowns. These teams have split the last 4 meetings. 

Smackover (2-3, 0-2) at CENTERPOINT (5-0, 2-0) Smackover held high-scoring Bismarck to 7 first-half points but the Buckaroos couldn't sustain the effort in an eventual 36-27 loss. The Buckaroos held the high-scoring Bismarck offense to 7 first-half points. Smackover started the season 2-0 but has lost 3 in a row. Centerpoint remains unbeaten after a 46-6 win over Parkers Chapel on Friday. Bryce Harless (6-101 receiving, 1 TD) led the offense. Kaleb Horn (7 tackles, 1 sack) anchored the defense. 

PARKERS CHAPEL (1-4, 0-2) at Horatio (1-4, 0-2): This will be the first meeting between the programs. Parkers Chapel, on a 4-game losing streak, lost to Centerpoint 46-6 last week. Horatio lost to No. 1 Prescott 63-0, and the Lions were held to 19 offensive yards in the second half.

NO. 3 FORDYCE (5-0, 2-0) at Palestine-Wheatley (2-2, 0-2) Fordyce beat Drew Central 50-0 on the road. The Redbugs starting defense has allowed 1 TD all season long. Fordyce has outscored opponents 246-38 across the first 5 games. Palestine-Wheatley fell to Barton 21-20.

BARTON (3-2, 1-1) at Dumas (1-4, 1-1): Barton beat Palestine Wheatley 21-20 last week. Jayden Burchett (16-106 rushing, 1 TD) and Qulan Green (130-152 rushing, 1 TD) led the way on offense for the Bears. Jakob Floyd (11 tackles) and Elijah Johnson (8 tackles) anchored the defense. Dumas fell to Rison 38-6 last week, but the Bobcats have won 3 of its past 4 in the series. 

LAKE VILLAGE (1-4, 0-2) at Drew Central (0-5, 0-2): Lake Village, seeking its first win over an in-state opponent since beating Pine Bluff Dollarway in October, 2022, enters this game off a 40-0 loss to McGehee. Lake Village's last 3 wins have come against teams out of Mississippi. Drew Central has been outscored 99-0 in its past 2 games.
