HOOTENS.COM GAME OF THE WEEK
No. 8 McGehee at No. 5 Prescott
McGehee has beaten Drew Central, Genoa Central and Fouke by an average of 32 points the past three weeks. Meanwhile, Prescott has defeated Smackover, Fordyce and Camden Harmony Grove by an average score of 43-25. Harmony Grove beat McGehee 39-35 in Week 4. The Curley Wolves led Harmony Grove by two points in the fourth quarter last week before senior running back Brandon Marks ran 42 yards for a touchdown to seal the victory. Marks has 94 carries for 737 yards (7.8 yards per carry) and 13 TDs this year. "They're very athletic and well-coached," McGehee coach Marcus Haddock says. "They come off the ball great and do some things offensively that will cause us problems."
McGehee has suffered multiple injuries this fall but the Owls are getting healthier. Junior tailback David Shepard has rushed for more than 800 yards, while senior linebacker Michael Risner leads on defense. Junior Stephen Lee has emerged lately at fullback, allowing senior Steven King (5-10, 265) to focus on defense. "They remind me of the old Dollarway teams," Prescott coach Tommy Poole says. "Any one of their skill players are capable of scoring at any time, from anywhere."
