HOOTENS.COM GAME OF THE WEEK
No. 5 Pulaski Robinson at No. 2 Pulaski Academy
The winner likely takes at least a share of the conference title and top playoff seed. Pulaski Academy has won all four meetings since this series renewed in 2006 by an average of 26 points.

Pulaski Academy, known for its prolific passing, has beaten recent opponents with a strong ground attack. The Bruins ran for 340 yards in a 19-point win over Nashville in Week 5 and for 280 yards in last week's 20-point win at Malvern. Senior Greyson Skokos has rushed for 669 yards and seven touchdowns this season, including consecutive games over 100 yards. Junior quarterback Fredi Knighten stretches defenses with his running ability (505 yards and four TDs) and passing (2,406 yards and 29 TDs). Freshman linebacker Tyler Colquitt has racked up 103 tackles, including seven tackles for loss this fall. The Bruins feature a salty secondary with senior cornerback Dylan Little (34 tackles and two interceptions) and junior safety Aum'Arie Wallace (79 tackles). Senior defensive tackle Dirk Tanner (50 tackles) got hurt in the first quarter against DeQueen and hasn't played in the past two games.

Pulaski Robinson counters with a stout running attack and very little passing. The Senators' only completion last week resulted in a 23-yard TD with five seconds left in a 30-28 win over Nashville. Senior running back Jaalen Watkins has rushed for almost 900 yards this season, including a 177-yard effort against Nashville. "Everybody knows he's going to get the ball and you still can't stop him," said Pulaski Academy coach Kevin Kelley. "They have a great combination of players with speed and power." Senator senior receiver Evain Hill has caught five TD passes, ran for two TDs and returned two punts for scores this fall.

Hooten's Arkansas Football TV show will feature highlights of the game at 11 a.m. Saturday on Fox 16.

WEEK 9 PREDICTIONS (favored team in ALL CAPS followed by point spread)
1-4A
Berryville at GRAVETTE (17): Gravette must solve problems snapping the football (nine fumbles on bad snaps against Shiloh Christian). The Lions can sew up the league's second playoff seed with one more victory and an Ozark loss. Junior Darrick Strzelecki has rushed for 1,009 yards this year.
GENTRY (4) at Prairie Grove: Gentry needs a victory in its final two games to lock up its first playoff berth since 1998. Prairie Grove sophomore Weston Bartholomew has rushed for 301 yards and four TDs the past two weeks.
Hooten's Arkansas Football TV show will feature highlights of the game at 11 a.m. Saturday on KFSM TV 5.
Ozark at SHILOH CHRISTIAN (35): Ozark is likely headed to the playoffs as the No. 3 seed after winning five games in 2010 (more than the previous two years combined). Shiloh Christian's defense held Gravette to minus-70 yards rushing in last week's 42-point win over the previously undefeated Lions. Saint senior QB Kiehl Frazier has passed for 1,596 yards and 23 TDs and rushed for 564 yards and 10 scores this season. Defensive tackle Sam Harvill (state's all-time sack leader) has recorded 9.5 sacks and 25 tackles for loss in 2010. Hooten's Arkansas Football TV show will feature highlights of the game at 11 a.m. Saturday on KFSM TV 5.
Pea Ridge at FARMINGTON (10): Farmington has played well in the first half but lost the past two weeks by lost a combined 40 points. The Cardinals can still mathematically make the playoffs even if they lose their final two games.

2-4A
Heber Springs at CLINTON (6): Clinton can clinch the league title with a win. The balanced Yellowjackets get production from halfback Jake Hink (852 rushing yards), fullback Dylan Toney (802 yards) and wingback Hunter Treece (350 yards). Junior QB Park Parish hasn't thrown an interception this season. Heber Springs junior running back Markeyvus Mays has rushed for more than 1,000 yards this year.
LONOKE (2) at Stuttgart: The winner locks a playoff spot, although there is an unlikely scenario where five teams can tie for second place. Lonoke led Marianna 14-6 in the third quarter last week before giving up two late TDs.
Hooten's Arkansas Football TV show will feature highlights of the game at 11 a.m. Saturday on Fox 16.
Marianna at NEWPORT (3): Marianna has won four consecutive games and can clinch a playoff spot with a victory. The Trojan linemen are more physical than in the past, allowing them to effectively run the ball and chew the clock. Newport must win to stay in the playoff mix.
SS Batesville at CAVE CITY (1): A battle of winless teams. Cave City has won three straight over the Southerners. Southside Batesville senior QB Jared Dahl has passed for almost 1,800 yards this year.

3-4A

Pocahontas at HIGHLAND (6): The winner likely gets the No. 4 playoff seed. Highland surrendered 433 yards rushing and fumbled three times at Osceola last week.
VALLEY VIEW is open.

4-4A
Clarksville at POTTSVILLE (4): Clarksville likely needs to win one more game to lock a playoff spot. Panther senior QB Trey Shucker passed for 118 yards and three TDs in last week's two-point win over Dover. Pottsville has won consecutive games, including a five-point triumph at previously undefeated Mena last week when Jay Wright ran in a pair of short fourth-quarter TDs.
Dardanelle at BOONEVILLE (21): Booneville can sew up at least a share of the league title with a win. Bearcat senior running back Talor Tatterson has rushed for 1,144 yards this year. Dardanelle makes the playoffs with one more victory and two Clarksville loses.
Mena at SUBIACO ACADEMY (1): The winner sews up a playoff spot. Subiaco Academy junior QB Marquis Walters (more than 1,400 total yards this year) ran for both TDs in last week's 14-13 win at Dardanelle. Mena must regroup after last week's 28-23 setback to Pottsville, its first loss of the season.
Waldron at DOVER (6): Neither team owns a conference victory. Waldron gets outscored by an average of 14 points weekly, while Dover gets outscored by an average of just three points per game.

7-4A
ASHDOWN (7) at Pulaski Oak Grove: Ashdown gives up seven points per game. The Panthers, who didn't allow a TD in the opening month, must win to secure a playoff berth. Pulaski Oak Grove QB Trooper Tolbert ran for a pair of TDs in last week's 28-point win at Bauxite.
Bauxite at DEQUEEN (7): A battle of winless conference teams. DeQueen continues struggling with participation, but the Leopards have improved the past two weeks.
Malvern at NASHVILLE (3): The winner probably gets the No. 3 playoff seed and travels to either Valley View or Gosnell in the second round of the playoffs. Nashville senior QB Cole Moore has passed for 1,853 yards and 15 TDs this year.
Pulaski Robinson at PULASKI ACADEMY (14): Hootens.com Game of the Week.

8-4A
Dumas at MCGEHEE (1): The winner probably gets the second playoff seed. Dumas cornerback Trey Winchester intercepted two passes, returning one for a TD, in last week's 40-point win over DeWitt. McGehee's T'Cambry Green returned an interception 95 yards for a score in last week's 37-point win over Warren.
Hamburg at WARREN (14): The winner should earn a playoff berth. Warren surrenders 34 points per game, while Hamburg gives up 31.
Lake Village at DOLLARWAY (6): Dollarway gets the No. 4 playoff seed with a victory in either of its final two games. Cardinal QB Tevin Tyson has developed into a passing and running threat.
STAR CITY (23) at DeWitt: Star City struggled before pulling away from Lake Village by 15 points last week. Senior QB Ty Towers accounted for four TDs against Lake Village. Winless DeWitt gives up 40 points per game, but the Dragons usually play opponents close for at least a half.
