HOOTENS.COM GAME OF THE WEEK
No. 5 Greenbrier at No. 4 Greenwood
The winner of this Thursday night contest moves into position for the league title. Siloam Springs handed each team its only loss this season, beating Greenwood 38-31 in Week 4 and Greenbrier 44-29 in Week 7. Greenwood coach Rick Jones was a teammate with Greenbrier coach Randy Tribble at Harding University where they were roommates as seniors. "We are so similar in what we do offensively and defensively," said Jones.

Since losing to Siloam Springs, Greenwood has won four straight while averaging 47 points per game. The Bulldogs tailor the game plan to fit their personnel. Junior running back Justin Sunde has rushed for 858 yards and 12 touchdowns this fall, including a 233-yard effort last week when Vilonia geared to slow the Bulldog passing attack. Senior quarterback Stephen Hogan completes 68 percent of his passes for 1,642 yards and 14 TDs this season, while senior receiver Seth Parker has caught 24 passes for 440 yards and six scores. The Bulldogs give up 18 points per game. Senior linebacker Marco Vota has made 50 tackles in 2010, including 10 stops in the second half of last week's 28-point win at Vilonia. "They are the quickest team we'll play," said Tribble.

Greenbrier rebounded from its setback to Siloam Springs with a 25-point win over Alma a week ago. Senior running back Hunter Winston missed most of the Siloam Springs game with a knee injury and didn't practice much last week. Winston has rushed for 831 yards and 13 TDs and caught 30 passes for 504 yards and eight scores this fall. Junior QB Neal Burcham has completed 150 of 248 passes for 2,197 yards and 20 TDs. The Panthers usually wear down opponents with their linemen. Senior right tackle/defensive tackle Matt Cain (6-2, 270) "is our leader," Tribble said. Greenbrier's other top linemen include senior left guard/defensive tackle Chase Lear (6-0, 250), senior left tackle Tom Boles (6-6, 260) and junior defensive ends Ryan Alexander (6-1, 240) and Paul Easley (5-11, 235).

Hooten's Arkansas Football TV show will feature highlights of the game at 11 a.m. Saturday on Fox 16 and KFSM TV 5.
