No. 7 Joe T. Robinson at No. 5 PINE BLUFF

The winner gets at least the No. 2 playoff seed and could earn the league title and No. 1 seed with some help, while the loser falls to the No. 3 seed. Joe T. Robinson has won 6 consecutive league titles, while Pine Bluff hasn't won a conference crown since 2017.

Joe T. Robinson rebounded from its first conference loss in 3 years (lost to Mills in Week 8) to down White Hall a week ago 41-19. Junior QB Quentin Murphy, Jr. completed 11 of 18 passes for 197 yards and 3 touchdowns, while junior Nick Abrams ran 9 times for 73 yards and 2 TDs. Senior receiver Spencer Watson (3-43), senior Kaleb bJones (4-94) and junior Jaden Carter (3-45) each caught TD passes, while Jakob Coleman led the defense with a fumble recovery and 79-yard interception return for a TD.

Pine Bluff didn't play last week, and 2 weeks ago the Zebra's beat Morrilton 26-7. Senior QB Landon Holcomb (17-26-263-3 passing; 9-61 rushing), senior running back Marquez Brentley (19-136-1 rushing; 2-38 receiving) and senior receiver Courtney Crutchfield (5-163-2) played well on offense.

WEEK 10 PREDICTIONS (favored team in ALL CAPS)

5A CENTRAL
Joe T. Robinson (7-2; 6-1) at PINE BLUFF (7-2; 6-1): Hootens.com Class 5A Game of the Week.

Beebe (4-5; 2-5) at MAUMELLE (6-3; 4-3): Maumelle has locked the No. 4 playoff seed (thanks to a 26-14 win over Morrilton in Week 7) after last week's 16-point victory over Vilonia. Senior Elijah Newell (9-66-1 rushing; 3-55-1 receiving; 5 tackles, 2 sacks, 3 interceptions vs. Vilonia) has established himself as one of the Class 5A's top playmakers. Senior Alan Timmons (8-112-2 receiving; 1 interception on defense) and sophomore Bubba Johnson (13-67-1 rushing) played well. Junior center/noseguard Konner Forte glues Maumelle's line. Beebe sophomore QB Ty McCormick (11-13-228-4 passing) made quick decisions in the pocket to spark last week's 42-6 win over Watson Chapel. Eleven different Badgers caught passes.

Vilonia (2-7; 2-5) at MILLS (8-1; 6-1): Mills captures the conference title and No. 1 playoff seed with a win. Senior QB Achillies Ringo (21-29-3-2-3 passing; 6-109-1 rushing) helped push the Comets to a 39-14 win over Morrilton last week. Junior RB Rodney Jackson (10-80-1) helped control the clock with tough runs, while seniors Dylan Parks (7-68) and Javian Love (6-130-2) made plays at receiver. Vilonia's 2-game win streak was snapped with last week's 44-28 setback to Maumelle. The Eagles surrendered 439 yards.

Watson Chapel (0-9; 0-7) at WHITE HALL (3-6; 2-5): Neither team will qualify for the playoffs. White Hall has lost 5 straight games, while Watson Chapel has lost 18 consecutive. White Hall's Jayden Smith ran 22 times for 120 yards and 1 TD in last week's 41-19 loss to Joe T. Robinson. Malachi Rayford scored Watson Chapel's only TD in last week's 42-6 loss at Beebe.

Morrilton (5-5; 4-3) is open.

5A EAST
Forrest City (1-8; 0-6) at BROOKLAND (4-5; 2-4): Neither team can make the playoffs. Brookland can finish with a 5-5 record, tied for the best in school history. Senior QB Felipe Lozano (10-13-97 passing), senior RB Caden Webbe (19-65-3) and sophomore WR Gabe Carter (4-50) helped the Bearcats to a 28-13 win over Paragould a week ago. Junior DT Javan Payne (12 tackles, 1 forced fumble) and Webbe (8 tackles) led the defense. Forrest City gained just 103 yards in last weeks' 49-14 loss to Wynne.

Paragould (2-7; 1-5) at SOUTHSIDE (8-1; 5-1): Southside finishes as the No. 2 playoff seed (and will host either Pine Bluff or Joe T. Robinson in the first round) after not making the postseason a year ago. Southside senior Gabe Witt ran for 160 yards and 4 TDs and threw a TD pass in last week's 42-10 victory over his former school, Batesville. Tight end Jaylen Jennings caught a TD pass. Paragould has shown improvement this fall. Cole Chipman ran 28 times for 168 yards and 2 TDs in last week's 28-13 loss to Brookland.

Batesville (3-6; 3-3) at VALLEY VIEW (8-1; 6-0): Valley View is the No. 1 seed (hosts Maumelle next week)and  has clinched at least a share of its 4th league title in 6 years. Senior QB Carson Turley 7-10-101-1 passing; 24-226-5 rushing) spurred Valley View's 43-26 win over rival Nettleton a week ago. Dedrick Bornds led the D with 8 tackles. Injury-riddled Batesville gets in the playoffs with a victory of a Wynne loss.

Nettleton (6-3; 4-2) at WYNNE (4-5; 3-3): Nettleton gets the No. 3 seed with a victory. Junior QB Maddox Hampton (21-28-226-2) played well in last week's 43-26 setback to Valley View. Senior Curtez Smith (14-146-2 receiving) returned to form after being injured earlier in the season. Sophomore T.J. Brown (26-104-1 rushing) has solidified Nettleton's ground attack, along with classmate Xavier Harrell (15-84-1). Wynne can finish anywhere between the No. 3 seed to out of the playoffs, depending on what happens this week. The Yellowjackets, with only 33 players, ran for 327 yards in last week's 49-14 win over Forrest City. Senior QB John Watson had 12 carries for 120 yards and 4 Tds. Sy Mars had 10 tackles on defense and Braylon McDowell intercepted 2 passes.

5A SOUTH
TEXARKANA (5-4; 2-4) at De Queen (0-9; 0-6) (Thurs.): Neither team can make the playoffs. Texarkana looks to end the season with consecutive victories after beating Hope 38-0 last week. Senior QB Nate Wall (18-25-242-2 passing), and WR's Telly Wells (5-64-1) and Javen Davis (5-150-1) were key to the win over Hope. De Queen has lost 25 consecutive games.

Camden Fairview (6-3; 4-2) at LR PARKVIEW (9-0; 6-0): LR Parkview repeats as conference champion (last year was first league title since 1984). Patriot junior Omarion Robinson racked up 4 tackles, 3 pass breakups and 2 interceptions in last week's 42-7 win at HS Lakeside. LR Parkview junior Monterrio Elston accounted for 235 yards and 3 TDs in the first half. Camden Fairview ran for 322 yards in last week's 35-18 loss to Hot Springs. Junior RB/WR Trent Haygood (15-132-1 rushing; 2-54 receiving) keyed the Cardinal offense, while junior LB Jerome Williams made 14 tackles. Camden Fairview could be without 3 injured starters this week.

HS Lakeside (6-3; 4-2) at HOT SPRINGS (8-1; 5-1): The winner of the City Bowl gets the No. 2 seed, the loser gets the No. 3 seed. Hot Springs' Kenyon Woods ran 14 times for 111 yards and 1 TD in last week's 35-18 win at Camden Fairview, while WR Justin Washington (7-81-1) played well for the second straight week. Braylon Young led the D with 17 tackles, 1 sack and 1 interception. HS Lakeside senior Kyler Wolf caught a 75-yard TD pass in last week's 35-point loss to LR Parkview.

MAGNOLIA ( 4-5; 2-4) at Hope (2-7; 1-5): Neither team can make the playoffs. Magnolia snapped a 3-game losing ski with last week's 28-14 win over De Queen. The Panthers amassed 337 yards (241 rushing, 96 passing). Sophomore Kaleb Roach (7-71 rushing; 1-52-1 receiving) and junior QB Antonio Brooks (3-6-92-1 passing; 13-70-1 rushing) keyed the offense. Hope has been outscored 233-54 the past 5 weeks.

5A WEST
SHILOH CHRISTIAN (7-2; 5-1) at Alma (7-2; 5-1): The winner at least ties for the league title. Alma gets the No. 1 seed with a victory, Shiloh Christian needs a victory and Farmington loss to get the top seed. The Saints scored 36 points in the first half of last weeks' 49-0 win over Prairie Grove. QB Cole Creighton threw 3 TD passes while senior Bo Williams returned from an ankle injury to run for more than 100 yards and 3 TDs. Alma's game at Dardanelle was canceled last Friday due to a flu outbreak at Dardanelle. Alma senior QB Jackson Daily (10-13-155-3 passing), senior WR Drake Stogsdill (5-67-1) and RB Carlos Gonzalez (15-209-2) played well 2 weeks ago in Alma's 37-point win over Prairie Grove.

FARMINGTON (6-3; 5-1) at Prairie Grove (4-5; 2-4): Farmington finishes as the No. 1 seed with a win and a Shiloh Christian victory over Alma. The Cardinals tallied 384 yards in last week's 36-24 win over Pea Ridge. Junior Luke Elsik ran 38 times for 193 yards and 4 TDs, while senior Hunter Reaves caught an 87-yard TD pass. Prairie Grove won't qualify for the playoffs after losing the past 2 weeks to Alma and Shiloh Christian by a combined 98-12.

HARRISON (6-3; 4-2) at Pea Ridge (5-4; 2-4): Harrison is in the playoffs as either the No. 3 or No. 4 seed. Senior RB Braden Long (23-351-4) ran the Goblins to a 42-3 win over Clarksville last week. Pea Ridge was tied with Farmington 17-17 in the third quarter last week before losing 36-24. The Blackhawks limited Farmington to 123 yards passing.


DARDANELLE (3-6; 1-5) at Clarksville (0-9; 0-6): Dardanelle forfeited last week's game with Alma after a flu outbreak wiped out most of the team, including every lineman. Clarksville's Juan De La Rosa kicked a 31-yard field goal in last weeks' 42-3 loss at Harrison.
