HOOTENS.COM GAME OF THE WEEK
No. 2 Pine Bluff at No. 1 El Dorado
El Dorado has won two of the past three in this series, including a 27-20 triumph for the Class 6A state title last year. Undefeated Pine Bluff has avenged three of its five losses from 2009 (51-35 over Fort Smith Northside, 20-16 over Watson Chapel and 32-30 at Lake Hamilton), looking for number four at Memorial Stadium. The Zebras last finished 10-0 in 1995.

Pine Bluff senior running back Jawahn Hunt has rushed for more than 1,600 yards and 21 touchdowns in 2010. "He's special and it starts with him," El Dorado coach Scott Reed said. "Pine Bluff's physical up front and they do a good job blocking. Defensively, it's typical Pine Bluff. They're really good inside, better than last year." The Zebra offense looks much different this fall with Hunt and junior quarterback Jordan Humphrey in the backfield. "We threw it 30-35 times a game last year," Pine Bluff coach Bobby Bolding said. "Maybe, if I get an itch, we'll throw it three times." The Zebras rotate as many as 20 players on defense, including senior linebacker and leading tackler Robert Jones.

El Dorado senior QB Taylor Reed has completed 111 of 174 passes (64 percent) for 1,807 yards and 20 TDs this season, bringing his career total to 4,120 yards and 41 TDs. Seniors John Miles (632 yards and three TDs) and James Ford (420 yards and seven TDs) both gain 6 yards per carry. Ford did not play in last week's 47-0 win against Benton after tweaking his knee at Lake Hamilton, but should return. Junior Wendall Thompson paces the Wildcats with 40 catches for 796 yards and 10 TDs. El Dorado allows 12 points per game (best in Class 7A/6A), led by seniors Ryan Williams (5-9, 235), Cameron Mahone (2009 state title game MVP) and Dante Andrews (leading tackler).
