HOOTENS.COM GAME OF THE WEEK
No. 12 Watson Chapel at No. 3 Wynne
Watson Chapel finished as the No. 4 seed in the South after losing three of its final four games. But the Wildcats don't resemble a typical No. 4 seed. "It's the worst draw we could've drawn," Wynne coach Chris Hill said. "The worst draw in the history of the entire world."
Watson Chapel hung with undefeated Camden Fairview before losing 21-13 last week, and the Wildcats 48-41 Week 7. The Wildcats average 32 points per game this fall and improved when senior playmaker SanAntonio Cole shifted from receiver to quarterback. Cole "got his bell rung pretty good" against Camden Fairview last week, but is expected to play, Coach George Shelton said. Senior center Sean Moser won't play this week with an injury, Shelton said. Junior Devonte Battles has rushed for almost 1,000 yards this year and the Wildcats put him at receiver and QB in some situations. Senior cornerback Jordan Stargell has 13 interceptions this fall.
Wynne finished the regular season 9-0 and won its first conference title since 2006. But seven starters have missed all or parts of the past two games with injuries, and senior Josh Selvy (more than 1,000 total yards) is listed as day-to-day after spraining his MCL two weeks ago. Junior Reed Wingo and sophomore Ross Trail alternate at QB for the Yellowjackets and senior Draylon Willis' return from an injury gives them a running threat. Sophomore Zach Morris performed well at receiver and free safety (one interception)last week, his first start of the season, Coach Chris Hill said. Senior receiver/outside linebacker Franklin Settles has shown leadership while taking on increased roles the past two weeks. Sophomore noseguard Deandre McGill recorded 12 tackles, two sacks and recovered a fumble in last week's 23-17 victory at Nettleton.

WEEK 11 PLAYOFF PREDICTIONS (favored team in ALL CAPS followed by point spread)
TOP HALF OF THE BRACKET
Watson Chapel at WYNNE (2): Hootens.com Class 5A Game of the Week.
Jacksonville at MORRILTON (18): Jacksonville dropped from a possible No. 1 seed to the third seed after losing its final two games of the season. The Red Devils have scored just two TDs the past two games. Morrilton hosts its first playoff game since beating Mills 17-14 in the first round in 2006. Senior Jamar Criswell has rushed for more than 1,000 yards this year.
Beebe at CAMDEN FAIRVIEW (31): Camden Fairview trailed Watson Chapel 13-7 late in the second quarter last week, the Cardinals first deficit of the season. But they won by eight points after holding Watson Chapel out of the end zone on four consecutive plays inside the 5-yard line. Cardinal senior Mckinzie James registered 13 tackles last week and has 90 tackles and 10 sacks this fall, while senior linebacker Aaron Wynn paces Camden Fairview with 111 tackles, including 18 tackles for loss. Beebe started the season with an 0-6 record, but won three straight games to advance to the playoffs for the second straight season. The Badgers knocked off Watson Chapel 54-48 in the first round last season. "It's hard to prepare for their scheme in just one week," Cardinal coach Buck James said.
ALMA (2) at Mills: Alma has just one playoff victory since 2005 (beat Beebe in 2010). The Airedales enter the playoffs after consecutive losses to Greenbrier and Shiloh Christian. Mills makes the playoffs for the third time in six seasons. Comet senior fullback Dwayne Davis ran for three TDs in last week's 33-point win at West Helena and he plunged 1-yard for the game-winning TD the previous week against Jacksonville.
BOTTOM HALF OF THE BRACKET
Vilonia at PULASKI ACADEMY (25): Vilonia's ability to change between the Double Wing and Spread could slow Pulaski Academy's blitzkrieg defense. Pulaski Academy has won 14 playoff games since Vilonia's last playoff victory (21-14 at West Helena in 2007 quarterfinals). Bruin senior QB Lawson Vassar has passed for more than 3,500 yards and 40 TDs this year, while senior receiver L.J. Wallace has almost 1,500 yards and 19 TDs.
Forrest City at WHITE HALL (10): Forrest City matches up well with athletic White Hall. Mustang junior QB Ethan Adams has passed for almost 2,000 yards and 23 TDs this year, while junior receiver Josh Tripp has more than 1,000 yards and 15 scores. White Hall relies on senior QB Terrance Warren, junior running back Irving Tisdale and sophomore Kendrick Edgerson to make plays. The Bulldog defense has improved since senior Joseph Stewart (two interception returns for TDs) returned from injury a month ago.
Sylvan Hills at GREENBRIER (21): Greenbrier finished the regular season 10-0 and captured its first conference title since 1990. Panther senior QB Seth Peters has passed for 2,457 yards and 26 TDs this year, and Peters gives the Panthers a threat running the ball (121 yards rushing and two TDs in last week's 13-point win over Vilonia. Sylvan Hills reached the playoffs for the first time since 2009 after Little Rock Christian lost to Little Rock McClellan last week. Sylvan Hills' Ashton Brown has rushed for more than 1,000 yards this fall.
HS Lakeside at BATESVILLE (18): Hot Springs Lakeside Coach Jared McBride, twice a runner-up for the Farm Bureau Awards Class 5A Coach of the Year, may have pulled his best coaching job this season, helping the Rams win their final three games of the season to capture the No. 3 playoff seed. HS Lakeside junior QB Garrett Carson passed for 262 yards and three TDs and rushed for another score in last week's 49-40 win over rival Hot Springs. Batesville has won three straight games by a combined 144-28 since losing at Wynne Week 7. Batesville senior QB Jacob Hardin completed seven of eight passes for 127 yards and two TDs in last week's 31-point win over Beebe.
