JONESBORO - The Sun Belt Conference named Arkansas State senior quarterback Adam Kennedy as its Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season on Monday after Kennedy led the Red Wolves to a 42-14 road victory over Louisiana-Monroe.
Kennedy, who also earned the recognition on Oct. 14, recorded 337 yards total offense and was responsible for three touchdowns against the Warhawks. He piled up a career-high 102 rushing yards and a game-high 235 passing yards, while also running for a career-high two scores and throwing for another.
The Elk Grove, Calif., native posted a career-high 22 rushes for a 4.3 yards-per-attempt average and completed 16-of-23 attempts for a .695 percentage. He had a long run of 13 yards and a long pass of 51 yards, which went for a touchdown. His passing score gave A-State a 7-0 lead, while his two rushing touchdowns extended the Red Wolves' advantage from 21-14 to 35-14.
Kennedy went over 200 yards passing for the fifth time this season and tallied 300-plus yards total offense for the fourth time. He helped lead the A-State offense to 494 total yards, its fourth most of the season. Kennedy moved into seventh place at A-State for season completions (180), eighth place for total offense (2,388 yards) and 10th-place for passing yards (2,034).
Additionally, Kennedy has also named the College Sports Madness Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week. He has now been named the online publication's SBC Offensive Player of the Week twice as well.
Kennedy and the Red Wolves return to action this Saturday, Nov. 16, with a 6:30 p.m. home game against Texas State. The A-State Athletics Department has made a "Turkey 2-Pack" available, which includes one general admission ticket to each of A-State's final two home games for just $15 -- a savings of $19 per person.
