This is the first playoff meeting between Greenbrier and the Pioneers. Batesville has won eight straight games and repeated as 5A East champs by averaging 41 points a game. Junior running back Jordan Childress nursed an ankle injury last week but scored three touchdowns in a 40-6 triumph over West Helena. Childress has rushed for 1,758 yards and 25 TDs this season. The Pioneers surrender 15 points a game. Senior strong safety Cody Vaughn has more than 100 tackles.

Greenbrier finished second in the 5A West this fall, but standout QB Neal Burcham (3,434 yards and 42 TDs) tore his ACL in the regular-season finale. Senior QB Chase Roberts threw for 303 yards and two TDs in last week's 35-16 win over Arkadelphia. Roberts has completed 36 of 45 passes (80 percent) for 432 yards since taking over for Burcham. Junior receiver Seth Peters has more than 1,100 yards and 14 TDs this fall. "They are one of the better offensive teams in the state," Batesville coach Dave King said. "They haven't turned it over much. And goodness, Roberts isn't exactly a backup quarterback. They are rallying around him."

TOP HALF OF THE BRACKET
Beebe at CAMDEN FAIRVIEW (10): Camden Fairview survived talented Morrilton 28-21 a week ago, holding the Devil Dogs to a season-low 88 yards rushing. Cardinal senior Derek Keaton has rushed for 826 yards and 11 TDs this year and has 291 yards receiving. HS LAKESIDE (2) at White Hall: These teams have met in Week 1 the past eight years, each winning four times. HS Lakeside has beaten the Bulldogs four of the past five meetings, including 26-3 just three months ago.
